the background music is anoying and distracting. For an organization educating people about sensitivities, it is hard to believe not to be aware of this .

Or you could learn to embrace the ways that autistic children play and communicate instead of enforcing neurotypical communication standards on us.... It would be great if people could just stop forcing autistic kids to play like neurotypical kids. There's a reason why we play the way we do. It doesn't mean that it's disordered. If a kid is not motivated by a people game, we're often not going to want to do it. Autistic communication is just as valid as neurotypical communication. I don't want to only learn NT communication and be forced to do it because I'm autistic. Reallly tired of NT's trying to force their standards on us. Not saying that incorporating sensory preferences into games is a bad thing; that's great. But we don't often engage in the typical back-and-forth interactions that are expected. This should be accepted.

Thats messed up. Those people are childish and insecure lol I recently started a career working with young children with autism and I absolutely love it! They are all so unique and smart. I have a lot of respect for the job and people with autism. I don’t think I’m “normal” or smarter than they are as society likes us to think when people don’t fit into a certain box like everyone else lol I am sure you are an awesome individual who will do amazing things in life..as for the people who don’t respect your wishes..leave em mid convo with their loud mouths still tapping away 👋🏾lol sorry for the long rant. I hope you’re doing well. Many blessings to you and your loved ones 🙏🏾❤️🥰

To parents of autistic kids: I also strongly recommend connecting with adult autistic people! Especially locally. They might be able to give you more information on solutions - and give you tips on local autism friendly environments as well as warn about inaccessible places! For an example, I am an adult autistic person. Because of this, I know which parks have too much car noise from roads close by, or too many people - and which parks are more secluded. I know which malls have more and less echo, and feel more or less overwhelming. We can give so much tips and advice and many of us are very happy to help give your kid the accessibilized childhood that many of us never got

Thanks to everyone taking their time to read this testimony on how my son was saved from Autism. He was diagnosed four years ago, and he's just 6, I have tried several treatments and medications, nothing was working out, this got me frustrated and depressed. I kept praying and finally God answered my prayers when someone from youtube introduced me to this doctor from his home country and gave me his contact details. I called and explained my son's condition after which I made an order for his herbal remedy, he asked for my address and the next day I got a tracking number for a parcel sent to me through DHL and after four days I received my order. It was a liquid herbal medicine and a letter containing the instructions on how to use the herbs, I called him again to confirm and the next morning I started giving my son the herbs as instructed and after one week I noticed great improvement on my son and I continued until the herbs got finished and everything lasted for just one month and now my son is totally free from Autism, he can now talk clearly, behave normally and has no more seizures. As an SLP, I just want to add that baby talk/ motherese/ infant direct speech is ideal as long as the adult articulates all their words correctly, while doing all the things mentioned in this video (slower rate of speech, higher pitch, facial expressions, etc). Some adults might think that baby talk means articulating words like a baby would (e.g. "gugu gaga wawa"), but this is not true.

I would like to attest joint engagement as it has always worked with me and my son since he was born.. little did I knew that he'll be diagnosed with Autism later in his life. Joint Engagement helped me managed lot of areas like eye coordination, interaction and gaining his confidence. He was three when he was diagnosed now six... Joint Engagement is a powerful technique which targets lot of areas like emotional upliftment of both child and parent, speedy learning and mutual understanding. Now he comes to me if he realises that he is not able to pronounce a certain word or needs to confirm if he is saying it right.😊

Big Thankyou and congratulations to the mum who was brave enough to let us see her before as well as after. It’s so helpful to see what changed. It was also interesting to see that the set up had been altered so mum didn’t have to worry about water getting spilt on the carpet, a good reminder that set up as much as possible should support not hinder spontaneous play.
