My third grader had a great day with no issues at Meadows ES. It’s a completely different story for my freshman at Dulles HS. Technically difficulties is an understatement. Teacher stating that they were going to count a child absent because of these issues, unexceptionable. They could clearly see that my child was in their class because her camera was on but she couldn’t unmute or comment because the system freezes up and at times kicked her out. I’m an extremely frustrated and stressed. Being an Alumni of not only FBISD but also of Dulles HS, I was not impressed.

Thank you for everyone's hard work. It was amazing to see all the schools that were opened on Saturday and Sunday to give technology help. Although, I was able to log in I took my children's laptops and tablet just to make sure it didn't need anything else. They did a hard reset to make sure the laptops had everything it needed. The day before the first day of school I logged in again to make sure everything was fine. It requires a lot of patience, prep work from the parents and of course all the hard work from the district and teachers. Because of that my 3rd grader, 7th grader and pre-kinder first day went smoothly overall. It helps to write the student's schedule on big print as a visual for them. They were able to follow along and I facilitated to make sure they were clicking the right places.

Great day for us! Thanks to the staff and school district for the synchronous learning. My daughter was super happy to see classmates and engage. You guys have done an amazing job! I have heard from people in other parts of the country and their districts are in chaos and have nothing solid in place. FBISD truly worked hard to get is going in a positive direction.

We had a smooth first day of school for both of my sons. Thank you to the teachers and administrators of Lake Olympia Middle School and Elkins High School. Additionally, Dr. Dupre, thank you for your poised and actionable leadership. Every time I watch your videos, I can hear your compassion for the students and employees (especially teachers) of FBISD. Awesome First day of school at Dulles High School.My senior did really well with adjusting to the changes as we all are.Way to go FBISD!! Although issues came up,just as we are adapting to this sudden change, so are you..God Bless!

Great job Dulles Middle School my 6th grader had a great day. The teachers from all periods did a great job introducing themselves and setting expectations. Shout out to Mary Austin Holley Hawks my 3rd Graders 1st day was a success as well!!

Today was an amazing day for my 10th grader at Clements and my 7th grader at First Colony Middle School!!! Thank you SO MUCH teachers and Dr. Dupre for all your hard work. Today was awesome!!

We had a....less than stellar day. 1link didn't work on the IPads from McAuliffe MS, and my son's first day of 6the grade was a nightmare. And the way FBISD has tons of links in schology for the same subject was overwhelming in all of children's classes. I have a 1st, 3rd, and 6th grader. It was a pain to keep up...and what is with the multipul links to all of the work? Why can't all of ELA (or any other subject) work be under one link? Why do we have to go through mulitpul links to do work work in the same subject? You people really expect these children to do it on their own when the parents are working? It's difficult for US to figure out! And my 3rd graders new teacher was going so fast...its so new to him...my child had an emotional break down because he couldn't keep up! This is simply to much to put on some kids. Somethings got to give.

It sounds like the teachers did not set up their online correctly. Once my kids hit 1link and then clicked on the Microsoft teams, they just selected their next period class and they were in. I hate to hear your kids had such a rough day. My prayers are for you first as a working parent and then your kids. May today and the school days going forward be smoother. God bless.

Hi Marie. I’m a parent and I know it’s hard with work and trying to get kids set up etc. I saw your comment on the iPad and Fort Bend has sent communication out that iPads and ChromeBooks are not allowed and won’t work on the new 1Link Platforms. The kids have to use laptops only. I’m hoping you can get one or if not, the schools are loaning our laptops if you’re unable to get one. As a parent myself, I’m here to network and help other parents. I’m praying things go much better through the week for you and your kids. Stay prayerful and everything will work out. I had a slight issue yesterday with one of my son’s teachers and I immediately sent that teacher an email and he was very responsive and corrected the issue. You might just send the teacher that was going too fast and ask that she slow down and hopefully she’s receptive. We are all in this together and here for you!! 🙏🏽

Everything worked out great for us at Brazos Bend Elementary. We had 1 hiccup at the start of the day where we lost connection and was unable to get back in. However, the staff was on top of their game and when they saw I was having problems they called me on my phone so my daughter wouldn't miss out! Thanks so much teachers, staff, and FBISD for all you do!!!

Kudos to Fortbend ISD to make the back to school transition as seamless as possible in these tough times .. last week’s ,orientation emails also played a big role to help students come up to speed quickly & hit the ground running..

Thank you to all the staff, teachers, administrators and every one for all the hard work. We had a few bumps on the road but it's to be expected with something that is so new to us all. I know everyone is doing their best for everything to go smoothly from now on. Thank you parents for being there to support your kids, those who were there physically and those that were there virtually. They need our support more than ever. Looking forward to a great year!
