A very similar music to that of Ride the River. Same idea. JJ Cale’s songs are those of a few patterns. Way less impressive than the versatility of, say, Paul McCartney.

Same idea as: "Ride the River". Similar music. JJ Cale has a few patters of music around which he write is songs. All of his songs are nice / good. However, less impressive than say, Paul McCartney, who is much, much more versatile !

where is this simple yet powerful essence to be found in today's 'music'? How many tunes from today's top 100 will be listened to and loved in 40 or 50 years? JJ's songs age like fine wine. What I hear on the radio today makes me feel my age and whine.

Я очень люблю JJ. У нас, в России, его мало кто знает, к сожалению. Мне хватило услышать одну песню, чтобы меня зацепило. RIP JJ!❤

I found JJ in 2015, when my mom passed away. I searched for something that could kill my pain and JJ did it song by song. Will never stop loving his music.

Ironically, I learned of JJ Cale from John Sandford's novels (Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers series) and what a music jewel it was to discover. ❤❤❤

I remember, in college in the 70’s, some of us discovering the album “Naturally”. Everyone of us had different tastes in music, but all agreed that this album, and artist, was just wonderful. And that is still the case today.
