At 48:26, what is the part that you tapped with the "encourager"? I'm just curious for future reference. It's just amazing that the "encourager" activated something & the starter showed signs of life. LOL! ;)

I truly love it! My Honda 1011 was doing the same thing & you confirmed what I suspected, the carb. I've never had it off of this mower in the 12 years I've owned it. That's just how amazing these little Hondas are. Thank you so much for taking the carb off & cleaning it right before our eyes on your very well done video. I'll be doing that to mine asap. You're so cool & I believe you're on the right track for a great future. We need more young men like you who are curious & not afraid to take things apart & put them back together & share your knowledge with us. You're the man! ;)

I like watching your inpromptu work on this mower. I own one just like it & received it on a trade for a DIxon Zero turn mower which was falling apart every time I used it. I LOVE this little mower & have had it for 12 years & it has required almost NO maintenance. I keep oil & air filter clean & battery in good working order & it just keeps on going. I accidently turned it over & broke the key off in the ignition, so I do need to put a new ignition switch on it because half of the key is stuck in the switch. I ordered a new switch today. I may not be able to install it myself because it looks like the whole shell probably has to come off to do that, but there's a repair shop nearby that will do it for me if necessary. Thanks for allowing us to watch your troubleshooting tactics in live action with this little gem of a mower. If I knew I lived in the same town as you, I'd offer to buy it because it looks to me like it's almost brand new or not been used much at all. I would love to have it! ;) It's my understanding Honda no longer sells mowers in the USA. That's so strange to me. I would buy a Honda riding mower in a heartbeat today if they did. Enjoy your very nice find young man & thanks for posting this video!

LS 430 owners are the nicest people. There's an LS 400/430 for all tastes. I personally like the earlier base model 430s, especially without the center dash screen. I picked up my 2001 last year for $6,000 from the original owner. Loads of maintenance and under 200k miles. It's in Onyx Blue Metallic with the chrome monoblock wheels. Please, keep making more videos about these cars.

So here's what's happening.... as you let it sit the fuel fills up the bowl and there's enough gas to get it to almost fire up and run except for there's just not quite enough. So at this point 23:20 you know it has spark you know it's getting some fuel but it just won't stay running. What I would do is to take the air cleaner off and put some brake cleaner in the carburetor and see if it will run for just a second which it would. That tells you it's not getting fuel and that means it's the carburetor. The end, right? Well maybe.. you see on top of the gas cap there is a little screw and if it's turned all the way down where it's not allowing are in you can also have the same failure that way. I worked on mine all day one day only to find out I just needed to open that screw a little bit and then it worked fine.

Nice job . I'm impressed. I knew it was an R129 when i saw the top .Thank you for showing and explaining how you sewed the windows in . I'm in the process of sewing windows in my ' 97 R129 . I've bought the vinyl and very strong marine thread and needles. I had bought an awl but thought that the awl needle would leave too large of holes but i believe i will use it now . I also was planning on using painters tape . And you using the pins is a great idea . This is the best video I've seen . Thank you

Thank You. Your video helped so much. Without it, I'm sure tabs/mirror would have been broken, as well as the location for all the screws needed to be removed. Like user-yd8cg5gl6m said, the main thing is to allow that top washer to come up/off and rotate it flattening it as best you can. THEN, I used a 14mm crescent wrench and gently/lightly but firmly , hammered it down about that 1/2" or a bit more. It has to get down past the point where the post increases in diameter by maybe a 16th of an inch. Then the washer will hold that spring in compressed state. I didn't zip tie the dust cover, even though mine was stretched on both sides like yours. I do believe its the washer that does the "holding". Auto mirror functions all works great now. I personally will not leave it in the "auto" setting. I will likely only use the folding function when needed...or to "exercise" the motors, gears, etc. I'll update if the washer doesn't hold . Again, Thanks for your video. It REALLY REALLY made the fix possible without any damage/breakage.

If you really wanted to save money you could have just bought a carb kit on the Big A. It comes with the carburetor, spark plug, air filter, fuel filter. It’s between 25-30. No need for parts cleaner on new parts

The LS430 has to be one of the best all-around sedans ever made. It has the same utterly demented pursuit of quality as its predecessor, while being a substantially improved design. Not sure why Lexus changed direction so much with the LS460 ... still a very nice car, and very powerful, but not nearly the same level of perfection.

I have an 05 And a 2010 and I bought them for reliability and the 05 will beat the 2010. But the 2010 rides just a little better and faster. However the leather in my 05 is better than 2010. I think Lexus peaked in 05-06. Not saying the others aren’t good because they are more reliable than just about any other car but they still aren’t quite as good as the 04-06. And yes, the other reason why I bought the second one is because it is a V8. I am buying several cars just because they are V-8s and big -I don’t want the future- this damn government and everything else is wrong about the future

I just took my LS (01 UL @ 162k) to the mechanic shop for new spark plugs and a transmission flush. My mechanic can’t believe how clean and smooth the ride is. Best car buy ever! It feels safe, drives smooth and is a taste of luxury on a budget. Also love that on a full tank can drive 400miles it’s a great road trip car. Lexus technicians know that the LS has the lowest cost of ownership . Even with a V8 engine and all the gadgetry. If you need a new ride do your research ( on KZfaq check out carcarenut preinspection video, run car fax, get a pre-purchase inspection, check owners manual to catch up with any delayed maintenance) DO NOT hesitate to buy these Lexus cruisers. 😊
