The person filming Don's awesome rendition of Swing 42 picked the worst possible angle to record this. The notes Don is fretting cannot be seen.

Derek, thank you for making this video. I have looking for a good quality comparison of your A style mandolins. I especially love the tone of the A4 Special.

They all sound wonderful, please do a comparison of your F style models as well...especially any with the wide nut option.

I am a singer and play solo folk and celtic often, I suspect the Englemann may be better for vocal accompaniment or...? Thanks

I’d say yes. I have a big mon englemann and has this beautiful natural eq curve that allows the vocals to sit nicely.

@@WysteriaGuitar My pleasure, goodluck :-) I’m all the way down in Australia and had to buy sight unseen and unplayed from banjoben back in 2020 and have 0 regrets.

She's the real thing. There are very few real songwriters around in the traditional sense of melody originality and invention. It requires work and genius. Sarah is my current favorite.

octave mandolin! the difference is that a mandocello is tuned like a mandola (CGDA) but one octave lower, whereas an octave mandolin is tuned like a mandolin (GDAE) but one octave lower
