From a Limerick man - maybe the best atmosphere at a match IV ever been to. Cork earned their win for sure that night. Hoping I'll see a full game of this somewhere.
@tomgreene184316 сағат бұрын
And RTE could not have it on TV I'm not sure who is to blame ...but have my suspicions. Don't forget the turnaround from 8 down to 4 up achieved by Limerick against a fine Cork outfit. Who could begrudge Pat Horgan a medal if he wins one?

Great game delighted from a cork nan have to say limerick are still the best team hard to see anyone beating them in the final limerick people will have a great summer and the best of luck to them a savage team

I think that's the attitude of the genuine follower ....if there is a great match it can take away the pain for the losing team... if this is Limericks year is to go out we can surely all agree they were one of the greatest and at 77 I can say lucky to have seen them ...like the Dubs in their pomp also remembering the great Cork team of the 70s and Tipp in the days of the Doyles.

Along with the Donegal win against Dublin in 2014 and 2018 Limerick Cork hurling semi this was the best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced - City Terrace was brimming with passion and, for a neutral, the banter was off the charts 🫡

The rule was brought in an attempt to cut out cynical fouls to prevent goal opportunities from developing anywhere inside the 20 metre line and from 25 metres from either sideline within the 20 metre line, generally cut out cynical fouls, Hayes just pulled him down never played the ball

@DavidSisk-yw8yzКүн бұрын
Every former player and pundit says it was a penalty. The key is in the rules: goal “opportunity”. It’s not soccer with “last man” back. Great game. Pity only gaago got to see it.

I think the Cork-Limerick game was one of the best games I ever saw. Fair play to Carlow they have some very nice hurlers and they played with conviction. Kilkenny have got to sort out the wide count. Every time we think they are starting to put it all together, they take a step back. I’d say the management team are cracking up.

See JP McManus was making contact with Mark Clattenburg as referee analyst since he left Nottingham Forest over the VAR incident, umpire had sliotar in hand in a hurry to give Cork goalie before he waved the white flag, sliotar barely went over the bar and it was already pucked out, what’s the craic with that,
@horsepower4843Күн бұрын
If Cork went out over an incident like that or Munster or Leinster final there be war, Horgan been adjudged to drag Limerick man over line was a big call but that was live play, umpire was ready for what happened, he was standing beside the white flag didn’t wave his concern was getting the sliotar to Cork goalkeeper

@@horsepower4843 in every game there is always incidents ,in real time refs are human and its not possible with the speed of game to get everything right,if officals got more respect it would be much more productive,those that come down heavy on officals dont seem to have the awareness or emotional intelligence to figure out its not possible to get every call right and would those who are totally unreasonable go and become referees themselves.that is not to suggest i condones wrong calls just dfor one to appricate in real time there will be errors cause again its not possible in team sport hurling ,rugby or football etc and of couse having said all this the passion and emotion in fans can overspill and its understandable but perhaps a bit of balance goes a long way

@@josephmaher4270 when i think if it your right, i seen the bit about John Keily what he said about that incident. I only looked back on that moment in the game then writing a comment hoping people would reply saying I’m right, the game was an epic classic between two great hurling teams who put everything on the line to win and jumping on a little incident in game isn’t right, the match officials are out there doing there best and are playing a major part in the game been a classic, don’t need people like my jumping on little incidents, anyway that’s that

@conorphelan7242 yeah, I posted before he got to that. It was a bit of a 'whinge' but I think it was more in the context of highlighting how close Cork were to getting a result in the game v Limk last Yr rather than complaining that ref decisions cost Cork the game. Personally I don't think Cork fans 'whinge'. There seems to be a desolate acceptance that things are not good & don't look like improving anytime soon. I give Cork a chance. Limk are due a red card & Cork will take advantage.

@@brianfitzpatrick9949 I am starting to think that exactly, I was chatting to a hurling man who was involved with a county hurling team from a football county , they put the football fixtures on in such a way as to overlap with hurling so the under age players , are forced to pick and go with the football, the football people also blocked any under age players playing hurling if they were picked for county football,,, and we wonder why hurling struggles in the weaker counties, RTE are not promoting hurling, they care about getting as much money out of Gaago , knowing hurling people will pay extra for to see the hurling, because these are in the most part, very good games , unlike most football games
