Can you imagine how their arms and legs must go numb from that? I never understood why it was used like that. We used to swaddle the waist down and roll a blanket under belly for gas pain. It helps. But that’s it. People should try these things on themselves before they do it to a baby. I know hospitals push this to new mothers

When I was growing up it was well known in the South that a baby's head needs to be shaped gently over time...usually by the mother or grandmother's hands while it is still soft (while the skull is not fully fused). Does no one do this anymore?

With SIDS in infants, I might be afraid to swaddle. But Baby sure looks snug and peaceful. Things have changed since my 5 were little.
