it might be the recorders mic setting, make sure its on mono

So I bought the DVT4110 here in Australia. But when I go to download the VoiceTracer software so I can then convert to text, the Philips website says my device's serial number isn't recognised. So to date I have a $200 recorder that my iPhone could've done. How do I get the VoiceTracer software? It's supposed to come with the device but I can't download it. Looking for advice ASAP please.

hi there, I have tried google docs but they really arent great and takes three times more time than if i were to transcribe and accuracy is not even close to 30%. I am a medical transcriptionist and to save my hands from typing wanted to invest in something that can give high accuracy close to 80% so that i can just edit the document and send. Is it something i can download the recordings into my laptop and do them in real time.. i dont think that with 100 different authors every day i can get it to transcribe directly from author, but i may need to redictate what they say.. what does youtube use to transcribe text in subtitles..

Hi Dan, what's the difference between the Dvt 6610 recorder and the CVT 2210 recorder that comes with the Dvt 2810 license set. Cheers

Hi Karl, the main differences is that the DVT6110 features the mobile app integration and high fidelity 24 bit / 96 kHz recording, whereas the DVT2110 and DVT2810 do not.

@@karlbyrne1111 I would recommend the DVT7110 for walking and talking outside, as this also includes a wind shield for ensuring uninterrupted recording when outside.

I don´t get it. Why don´t you just record it all on your phone to begin with? Why on earth should you buy this for? And why buy this when you need your phone to control it anyway? What a waste of money. Just another unnecessary gadget.....

Just got it and overall is nice, but recognized that the app always returns to 8kbps in custom mode - even when it shows 320 kbps - only solution for now is to always change the Bitrate before each recording - seems to be some bug.

My mobile plan does not come with a personal hotspot option. Can I still use the app and operate my voice recorder via Bluetooth?

Hi Mike, the only way to connect a phone to the VoiceTracer is via a phone's personal hotspot. Unfortunately this won't work via a bluetooth connection.

After checking the box of the recording you want to delete, instead of selecting the “Edit” button in the bottom right corner, tap the menu button (3 dots) in the top right corner. You will then have the option to delete a recording.

Hey Dan I tried to put in the passcode for my hotspot and i don't know how to get to the numbers to enter it seems it only takes letters, is there a solution?

Good morning, yes there is a solution! So when the device is showing the keyboard, press the middle function button twice (the middle of the 3 black buttons, immediately below the screen), and you will then see the numbers keyboard.

Good morning, from the home screen press the back button and then press the left function button (the black button on the left immediately below the screen). Locate the music folder, and if the file is supported the music will be listed here.

@@DiamanteLaVoz MP3 format is correct, so unfortunately I am not sure how to resolve this issue. I would recommend calling the Philips support line on 0208 0683909 with the following information: The model of the recorder, the serial number, and the date of purchase.

I bought the dvt2810 but then I realised it doesn’t have wifi function, problem is my laptop is provided by company and has restrictions that I can’t use USB connection. Any way to solve this? Thank you.

Hi Wennie, do you have access to an alternative laptop or PC, that doesn't have USB restrictions? If so, I would recommend uploading your audio file to that device, and then emailing the file to yourself. Once you are back on your company laptop, you would then be able to access the audio file from your emails.

@@wennie20122 Unfortunately the DVT2810 doesn't have bluetooth connectivity. USB transfer is the only way to transfer the audio files from the device.

@@wennie20122 Do you have the Dragon speech recognition software installed on your laptop? As this will be required to create the transcript. Once installed, please import the audio files into the software, as per the instructions in the video.

Please confirm which model/version of the recorder & software you are using. Is it the DVT4110 recorder with the DVT2805 software? I feel like I’ve been going around in circles trying to figure out the best voice recorder that will be able to record, transfer, and (with software) translate my audio files into text. Are there any other recorders that you would recommend to meet this need? Thanks!

Hi Wendy, yes I can confirm that I'm using the DVT4110 recorder with the DVT2805 speech recognition software. I would also recommend the DVT6110 which works great with the DVT2805 software. I hope this helps.

Phillips sell a combo pack of Dragon Nuance and DVT 2810. Great value and I'd buy it except the 2810 has no mic input socket. Any plans for a combo pack with a model that has a line in mic?
