all they need is a shark spotter up those rocks , paid by the hotels in the area to keep it safe for tourists , like they have in South Africa , easy to spot a big tiger / white / bull shark in the shallow crystal clear water...

What is creepy is that 2 people died here attacked by a shark.

A fantastic beach but it sends shivers down my spine that I was swimming there one evening and roughly in the same spot as where a British and a French tourist was killed in a shark attack a few weeks later. Also at dawn...

There is a nice and affordable solution, if you want to stay on Praslin. Google Cote d'Or Apartments. It's a self-catering establishment and really close the beach.
