Not very well. I have just tried to do this with on my MTB with carbon rim, Maxxis DHR tyre and Cush Core insert. It was impossible to get the Tyre Monkey under the bead.

I gathered they would be safe on most carbon rims. If a manufacturer doesn’t want you to use tire levers, they usually have a sticker on the rim, or in the manual. I would also think it creates less stress on the rim due to physical leverage. When you try to pry a 30 or 40mm section of tire on a rim, the stress on the tire lever and rim is pretty substantial.

After trials, if you put the bike on the main stand so the back wheel is off the floor then go to the front wheel and lift it just enough so the back wheel stays off the floor and push the wheel monkey up to the wheel backwards so your front tyre rests against just one wheel of the wheel monkey. You can now rotate both wheels with no effort

I have had tyre levers for years and years, I lose them before I break them. You might want to have a think about your technique?

@@palmergaz IDK, 10 to 20 tires a week, soapy water, 2 to 4 inch increments, even glass fiber reinforced levers don't last long on those 700's. My cousin is going to make some from ti on his cnc mill, see how long they last the spoke wrench he made 4 years ago is still good and the treated ti cone wrenches are great

Not quite the same but it does the same thing. The big problem with all of these new tools is that are only made for little hands. But i guess if they were made bigger they would break much easier than do now

@@mazdarx7887 I already broke 2 Tire Gliders until I realized that this tool doesn't work on carbon rims, they broke very easily.

@@TheVagom15 Yea, ya got to spray lots of soapy water on whan doing those rims. As I sid before, order a few dozen of glassfiber renforced spoons from china, you'll save lots of money. Even carbon rims are very fragile and easy to crack when changing tires. They (carbon rims)are not woth the money unless you are a top pro racer trying to shave fractions of a second off your time. Most people with them are just trying to keep up with the Joneses, or saying look at me, look what I got.

Haha! Conti Gatorskins are bastards to get on and off most rims. If Tyre Monkey can handle them, your mtb tires will go on like butter.
