These are not accurate predictions of behavior. I worked in my local police department and the mess of people applying and employed as POs was astounding. From alcoholism, horrible temper, narcissistic traits, wife beaters, inappropriate sexual conduct, etc. I have stories for days and days. Then spoke to another friend in a different department and she confirmed the same. What’s going on? This is a travesty. 😢

As other comments have pointed out. It’s fake science for fake intellectuals. Aka sub 700 hour trained losers. Another reason to not respect them.

I failed mine, and the doctor never said it was a psychological test. She said it was a structured interview. Then I went back to her again and she failed me again. Both times, I was in and out in 15 minutes. BTW I passed my polygraph. Eventually, I had to write letters to the Sherrif, and he gave me a chance and hired me. Idk what caused the lady to do that.

@@zaddy-im7lo look into penn foster that’s what I’m doing during highschool hated doing any kind of work like doing work that got me payed but idk if it’s cause I hate the warehouse job or if I actually like doing it it’s fun there’s not that much writing in the courses 2 written exams at the end of it then you get ur diploma going into trade school tho after or the union looked into the cop shit and firefighter shit but you gotta get a polygraph done n I used to be hella into drugs so that also knocks me out

The irony is, policing …. the job that allows you to legally, blatantly lie to citizens, wants to allegedly make sure you aren’t a liar. The polygraph examiner can and will deceive or flat out lie to you, in an attempt to trip you up, or get you to admit to deception. And all this is measured by a machine that’s about as scientific as flipping a coin; which is to say the polygraph is psuedo science, nonsense.

Sorry, as a retired officer I cannot take this guy seriously, just at first glance. He has his sleeves halfass rolled up with a tie on, and what looks like an improperly worn mourning ribbon on his badge. If I were interviewing, he could not pass.

For that agency, you applied to yes. But you can still do other agencies or that same one at a later time.

Catching you in a lie may end your chance of becoming an officer, but the second you are sworn in, it is highly encouraged from then on for the rest of your career.

When I did backgrounds for our agency how many The Dude Big Lebowski/Jeff Spicolis applied. Some genuinely appeared relieved when they were disqualified and others absolutely dismayed. Bad decisions always have consequences.
