Excellent video, detail etc, well explained. The sheen the floor has at finish, is this due entirely to paint used or was there another product added? i.e. lacquer

looks beautiful thank you for the video. How would you do that with raw wood in the kitchen to make the kitchen waterproof? I basically took white birch, plywood and ripped planks face nailed it down and I’m thinking about painting, but I do have slight gaps in between the boards, so would need to waterproof everything for the kitchen and any suggestion? Thank you? By the way, I do like the look of the raw bitch Wood, but I’m having a hard time finding a wood filler to match it.

You missed a staple. Its right next to the paint can. Also, need to fill the gaps between the floor and the the trim. 🙂

personally if the money is there I would use aluminium wood primer being a hardwood and all those knots then 2 coats of oil floor paint well 3 if the finish is white with the grey primer

Great review my man. Delighted to see someone post what I'd need in my van as a decorator. Tip on a decent racking company was appreciated, be looking them up. When you'd first started I wondered what you'd have to stop tubs of paint slipping about. Have been looking for some sort of floor storage to stop the 10ltr tubs sliding as they did in my vivaro, not a van I'd recommend. Hope your keeping busy, cheers 🙏

Is it possible to sand down a laminate worktop? or are you screwed if its scratched? ive tried using the soft wax repair kit but the wax just wipes out

I'm late to the party, as always ! but had to comment, as I have watched quite a few of these videos today, but yours is by far the most simple, achievable method and explanation, of how you did it. thank you for helping me believe I can actually do this, to my old floorboards.

I love driving my custom but theres nowhere to store paperwork etc safely without it falling out unlike my old Scudo. Stuff in the overhead compartment always falls out and anything in the door panels falls out when you open the door. Put paperwork on the seats & it flies off when cornering. It would also be nice to turn off the 12v accessory socket once you turn off the ignition rather than stay on for half an hour which my dash cam doesnt like.

I can see clearly that this is a complete faff....why don't you start with the longest drop first ...thats the way I have been taught 33 years ago with a very experienced tradesman

Did same with an old 1980's red golden hardwood floor using Rustoleum Protective Enamel.This product is super durable,shiny. Since redoing floor they now have a line of floor paint/enamels

Hi, Rob. I followed your video the first time I did my kitchen worktops and was really pleased with the results. However, having decided to do them again, I have discovered that the Liberon Worktop Finish and Seal is no longer available. Could you recommend anything that would give equally impressive results, please? Thanks!

Cabots is good quality, doing my benchtops now and getting a really nice result from their benchtop clear varnish. It was recommended by the people at my local hardware store and when my builder asked what I was using he approved of Cabots too. Four coats with the 240 grit between each application, one tip my builder gave me was to add half a day to the recommended 2 hours between coats. He stressed that it's worth taking the extra time to do it right and you will have years between re-doing it so you may as well take the time to do it right. Good luck!

Can this process,, pasting the wall be used for a high grade lining paper Rob??

Yes. Regular drops of lining paper I will paste the paper. But with very long cross lining or lining a ceiling I now soak the paper with water and paste the wall. All pasting the paper does is expand the paper. Water does the same thing and just wet paper is easier to handle than paste covered paper.

My question is: if you need to climb a ladder to lock down a ladder to the top of a van, what do you do with the ladder you used to lock down the ladder on your van, how do you lock that ladder down so you can use it to remove the ladder on top of your van at the worksite?

In the UK we use various ways, ladder bolted to rear door, stand on the tyres or door opening, dedicated ladder loaders like rhino safe stow, small 4 tread stepladder or hop up platform
