Done some work on dads car.. but still feels sluggish specially in 5th gear, so hard to overtake a car or at any hills.. Had camshaft sensor code changed it No codes now Cleaned MAF & EGR No turbo noise, no leak noise.. no idea what else it can be… fuel filter only thing left to do but it’s not even that old maybe 1 year.. Any ideas what it could be?

Hello, Sorry for the late answer.. Is it diesel or petrol car (and what is it for the car, Opel Calibra from 1997?)? The most typical causes of a car not accelerating while driving include: a faulty sensor, contaminated fuel or air filters, or a faulty timing belt, dirty mass air flow sensor (MAF), faulty spark plugs, defective throttle position sensor, clogged catalytic converter, faulty oxygen sensor, clogged air filter, fuel system malfunctioning, your engine, your transmission, low fuel pressure, engine speed sensor, clogged fuel injectors, broken or corroded contacts, clogged exhaust, and vacuum leaks.. Reasons your car struggles to go uphill include: Signs of clogged fuel injectors include struggling to go up hills, a dead or sputtering engine, rough idling, sporadic RPMs, and vehicle acceleration lag, a bad fuel filter, a clogged exhaust, and vacuum leaks. Usually, professionally cleaning the fuel injectors will restore their functionality and your engine's performance. You can easily fix most issues causing your car to struggle going uphill by identifying the underlying cause and having a professional look and patch up any damage. Sluggish acceleration: The first step is to inspect the ignition switch for any broken or corroded contacts. If all looks good there, then you should check the spark plugs for wear or damage. Replace them if necessary as bad spark plugs can cause a misfire and prevent your car from accelerating properly. Next up is inspecting the coils. Here is described what happened to me with this failure and why I had it at Ford repair shop 3 times before it was solved. If you like this video and want more videos like this, please subscribe and like the channel and share our videos as support for our work (it doesn't cost you anything)! ;) Thank you for watching! If there is someone who is not clear from the video what was wrong with the car, here is a small summary: The first thing they did and said they did at the service station was cleaning the cables around the CKP sensor (CKP = Crankshaft position sensor), they said the computer read them an error about it. However, that did not solve the problem in my case (although I am not saying that there was nothing about it). The second time they changed the EGR valve and it was ok some 500km, but it turned out that the valve they installed was not good and that it was also dead (since I was driving that mileage about a week and mostly on the 110 / hour highway). . The third time they replaced the EGR valve again and now I drive for some 4400km without any problems. So that solved the problem for now (the EGR valve that was on the car from the beginning went about 65000km without any problems, although I didn't drive so much with long distances with it at that speed either). It should be noted that they told me at the service that with these models, there are about a minimum of 50 different things that can have an error but they all throw out this same error on the computer screen so they can only read the current error at the service. So if your car may have more errors, they can only see one thing with this error on the computer and fix it first and then on until the errors no longer appear. The point of the whole thing is that technical inspection and services must be maintained to prevent this from happening. And if you know about the car yourself, it would be best to inspect all the sensors you can find around the engine at least twice a year, so that the contacts do not rust a bit and clean them as a small protection so that the car does not stop suddenly due to this error. It is best to be inspected by a good mechanic master for these models who knows where and what to inspect and even better if there is one of those error reading devices that cost up to 5000 euros/dollars and that can read more and better almost everything from the car (although you also need to count on wear and tier consumables parts and that some things have their shelf life and that they break down over time and have to be changed). Instrumenta tabla ima loše letovanje i treba je neki električar pregledati i ponovo sve zaletovati.. U većini slučajeva zna biti kontakt s kablovima koji je loše letovan, ali isto tako može biti i bilo koji zaletovani dio. U najgorem slučaju ćeš morati zamjenuti čitavu instrumentnu tablu, ali većina iole dobrih autoelektričara može pronaći kvar i ponovo zaletovati.. Predpostavljamo da mislite test koji se vidi na ekranu vašeg auta? S lijeve strane na ručci imate dugme "Set", pritisnete i čuvate pritisnuto to dugme i istovremeno okrenete ključ na poziciju 2 i čekate da se pojavi "Test". Nakon toga možete da pustite dugme "set", i s tim dugmetom da idete kroz sve opcije testa.. Ukoliko nemate OBD2 skener, tu možete vidjeti i kodove greški ukoliko ih ima.. Sve najbolje.

Ma izludio me ford 1.6 tdci 80kw , nema grešaka, nema šta nisu gledali mjenjali, gubim vuču. 2 mjeseca agonija i ništa 750 eura bačenih za bh uvjete je previše

@@BHDvlog kad naglo dodam gasa, nemam ono ispaljenja, sporo ubrzavanje kao da nema turbine, a po riječima mehaničara turbina ispravna ... Najbolje osijetim recimo vozim po ravnom 80 i kreće uzbrdica dodam gasa ništa ne prima, onda ga vratim u 3 brzinu pun gas jedva ga vratim na 80 i čim prešaltam u 4 brzinu gotovo nema damra vraćaj u 3 ...jednostavno neam snage da izvuče🥴

Saluti dalla Sardegna 🎉 io possiedo la ford focus 1.6 tdci 90cv mk2 2007 con quasi 600.000 km . L'auto l'ho comprata nuova, conosco ogni singola cosa. Ho cambiato solamente 1 volta la EGR. Penso che il problema EGR sia dovuto dal gasolio sporco e anche dalla qualità della stessa EGR. I problemi che potrebbe dare questo motore, e non solo questo motore tdci, ma anche hdi citroen e peugeut ,di solito so il circuito di aspirazione e ciò che è collegato ad essi. Usa programmi come forscan e car scanner. Un abbraccio dalla Sardegna ❤❤

Hello! I hope you are doing great. Thank you for the video. It is quite instructive, also reading the comments under it. I was wondering if you could possibly help me out. I had the same issue (engine malfunction while driving). My friend diagnosed it and the following faults are apparent: P0193 - Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit High P0698 - Sensor Reference Voltage Circuit "C" Low P0490 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation "A" Control Circuit High P042F - Exhaust Gas Recirculation "A" Control Stuck Closed I have researched a lot of resources by now and I am wondering, perhaps you have a good insight. So my predicament is that there are mainly 2 faults - faulty EGR valve and Fuel Rail Sensor (FRP). I have seen that a short-circuited EGR can cause faults in FRP, and I am wondering if I should invest time in dealing with the EGR first or also tackling the FRP (basically exchanging both for new ones). Also, I have found that some Ford owners deleted the EGR software (for about 100 euros), since it was cheaper to replace it and it had some benefits. The only issue with deleting it might be that it won't pass the emission control, but I would have to research if that would be the case in Slovakia too. Also, I wanted to ask the approach in resetting the old EGR learned values when new one is replaced. I would replace the EGR and then just reset it with diagnostics and the new EGR will work without anything else? What would be your advice? The technical and emission controls are in 10 days and I am lamenting over how to approach this issue. Last minute scenario would be just deleting the faults through diagnostics and hoping it won't pop in while in the control. Thanks for any help.

My car turned off multiple times, changing the fuel and air filter didn't help. Turns out the automatic turning off air valve was causing the issue. After disabling it, the car works perfectly. Not sure if it will cause any problems, but I hope it doesn't. Maybe it will help someone who doesn't know what is happening. The car is focus caravan, 2009, 1.6 tdci 109hp

Zdravo, odgledao sam video imam slicni problem na isti focus 2011 mk2 auto je prosao 195 000 kad ga zapnem malo u drugo trecoj cetvrtoj nad 2.3k obrtaja daje taj alarm auto i dalje radi ali daje taj error izgasim upalim nema gresku u leru nabijem gas auto ne daje nikakav error kad ga vozim opet ista prica auto samo jednom mj je ugasio u drugoj sam ga zapeo radi test i kad pustim kvacilo da upali samo nece vracam kluc opet dajem kontakt verglam auto pali nema greska i ide ali daje taj error molim za neki savet hvala pozdrav.

I've got a 2008 tdci 1.6 had the engine malfunction light on with no engine management light car drives OK for about half mile as soon as I try to accelerate the chimes come put it on 3 computers no codes at all change fuel filter any help would be much appreciated 👍

I have a 2010 Ford focus Estate Econectic 1.6 Cdti.... I only have problems in the wet and cold say around the 3 deg C mark or less . It gives the warning sound, with Engine Malfunction... it still drives for a minute or so and then it cuts out. I turn the key off and then it will start right away and the warning disappears and diagnostics shows nothing( once in the past it would not Start) . It has just came into cold weather and has started again but I am getting used to it now. I warn you if it happens on the motor way not to panic... the car still drives for a short time and even when it cuts out there is time to find a safe hard shoulder or chevroned area...do not put your foot on the brakes and indicate straight away to start your maneuver and if you are capable put on your hazard lights . I will need to get this fixed even for my own piece of mind but I can see that Garage prices would go through the ceiling without a definite fix, till then I will try to drive only when the temps are favourable and will investigate the problem more.... thanks for the effort you put to make this video...

Imam problem sa peugeot 407 1.6 hdi 80kw Auto mi samo izgubi snagu i staje okrenem kljuc upalim ono sve normalno i teram dalje.. Predjem po 500-600km pa opet isti problem.. Odem kod majstora, kaze moze biti senzor pritiska goriva na rampi... Ja uzmem senzor pritiska plus regulator pritiska i zameni se to.. Kad ono opet posle nekog vremena isti problem Jednom se desilo da mi se u roku od 10min ugasio tri puta, ali svaki put upali i ide dalje Ne znam sta moze biti dalje, neki kazu da su imali takav problem sa senzorom radilice.. Planiram da ga vozim na detaljan pregled i ciscenje svega sto se moze ocistiti.. Proveru konektora tih senzora.. i naravno ciscenje te posude za ulje..

Drago nam je da ste rješili problem a da vas uz to nije koštalo nekog ogromnog novca, ipak se znanje isplati (i super ste pregledali sve kritične tačke).. Sve najbolje i u budućoj vožnji! P.S.: Jedan tip nam je nakon 6 mjeseci odgovorio na jednom YT kanalu sljedece: "Ocisti svječice, senzore, provjeri kablove i to je to. Potrosio sam oko 1500 dolara na mog peugeota 206 2003, uzeo sam ga iz servisa i servisa i niko nije rjesio problem katalizatora i ralenti bloka okretaja... Onda sam krenuo i polako shvatio kako je u pitanju elektricni sistem, poceo sam da ga cistim, cak i osigurace i pronasao sam problem na kablovima senzora maf, promjenio sam stari konektor kupio novi, i novi maf i radi ispravno.. . zaista sam potrošio samo 20 dolara konektora. To je to i mojih 6 sati proveo sam u kontroli kablova i kontinuiteta."

Korrekt, men at have fuld tank og så få stop på motorvejen og derefter efterlade den der med fuld tank er ikke heller den bedste løsning (efter min mening) ;) Det er med vilje tanket kun nødvendige for dag eller to af kørsel, før problem blev løst .. Og jeg ved godt, hvis man vil også undgå at brædnslemåler sætter sig fast, så skal den altid være minimum en tredjedel til en fjerde del fuldt, og det er den, efter det er sket..

Hello, It looks as the same issue, but is not if it is going away after slap.. There are many failures on Ford which give same failure screen as you can see, you seem to have some issues with dashboard.. I had that same fault. The instrument cluster needed re-soldering at the plug connector. You can find the procedure on KZfaq. Hope this helps.

Hello, Firstly you have to find out what caused "engine malfunction" screen. There is at least 50 possibilities that can cause that :( . I can't see what could cause engine malfunction just because car didn't been driven for a longer period. Did you try to check with obd scanner if there are any failure codes (or have someone to check it for you)? And try to explain in detail what happens and what kind of car you have, milage, etc.. auto koji umeo dosta problema da "smisli". Zamisli losi lemovi na tabli npr. izbacuju isto gresku motora, isklljuce ti u voznji servo volan i odsece gas! Ej, jebena tabla da dovede coveka u opasnost je za nepoverovati. Da sam u nekoj zapadnoj zemlji tuzio bih Ford momentalno. P.s. non stop ti upaljena rezerva ili pre rezervu, dospi tog goriva druze i makar jednu brigu manje sebi da skines

Hvala na pitanju! Iako nisam majstor za popravke, pokušat ću naći objašnjenje koje ima smisla, pošto niste dali detaljan opis, moglo bi se nagađati do u nedogled. Prije svega, kako znate da je to ta greška? Znači ,trebali bi dati malo više informacija poput: koliko je vozilo prešlo km?, da li ste vi ili neki majstor testirali vozilo sa obd skenerom/kompjuterom i da li vam je izbacilo kodu s greškom (obično za ovu grešku se pojavi koda "P2585" a koja je inače povezana sa DPF filterom ili eventualno čak i pumpom za gorivo), kada ste zadnji put kontrolisali i dodali aditiv?, gubi li vam vozilo snagu?, opis događaja s greškom itt. @@BHDvlog Spojio sam ga na dijagnostiku kod kolege kad je izbacilo gresku. Navodno ima neki spremnik za tekucinu s donje strane kod rezervnog kotaca,ali sta je ta tekucina ne znam.Greska je P2585,ima i na internetu,ali moze biti vise stvari u vezi toga.

Da može biti više stvari povezano u vezi greške koju ste dobili, greška vam je samo indikator gdje i na što trebate obratiti pažnju, mada greška ne mora uopće da ima veze s kodom. @@BHDvlog Upalio mi se engine malfunction,i to nakon tenkiranja na benzinskoj(auto je bio na rezervi). Ali mi se nije upalila ni jedna lampica,kao ni ona žuta(check engine),nego mi nakon što se auto upali na screenu iskoči:Engine malfunction. Imao sam već problema s dpf-om,jednom je regeneriran preko dijagnostike,a drugi put su ga morali skinuti i prati(onda se upalio i check engine i auto je bio u safe mode režimu,znači nije vuko). Vozim uglavnom kratke relacije,auto ima skoro 240 000 km. Otprilike 3 tjedna nakon što se upalila sam bio kod kolege,ima neku Delphi dijagnostiku s kojom je našao tu grešku. On je inače i automehaničar,pa je i otkrio tu posudu koja je najvjerojatnije za taj aditiv,jer moj brat koji ga je vozio prije mene nije ni znao da u njega ide bilo kakav aditiv. A što se tiče režima vožnje gledam da ga vozim iznad 2000 obrtaja i ne divljam. Nekad ga znam "propirit" na autoputu zbog dpf-a.I da,auto trebutno ide normalno,kao i prije nego se pojavila ta engine malfunction poruka. Eto,nadam se da ovo pomaže. Hvala unaprijed ! Lp

Ovako, krenut ćemo prvo s činjenicama koje su nam do sada poznate: 1. Engine Malfunction se pali na ekranu nakon tankanja goriva 2. Greška koja je nađena kod provjere je P2585 3. Aditiv nikad nije kontrolisan niti dopunjen (mada nije sigurno da li aditiv treba na ovom modelu ili je dovoljna regeneracija) 4. DPF nikad nije zamjenjen (Ford preporučuje da se zamjeni na 120.000 pređenih km), jednom regenerisan, jednom čišćen 5. Kratke relacije vožnje, “ponekad” propirivanje autocestom (nepoznata brzina i dužina vožnje u tom stanju te koliko često se to radi) Opisat ćemo šta je ispravno bez prevelikog pametovanja (iako se može shvatiti kao tako). Skoro sve činjenice ukazuju da vam minimalno dvije stvari mogu biti u pitanju. Dizel auta su namjenjena da se voze najmanje 30-40km dnevno kao minimum, tako da ta kratka relacija vožnje je smrt za dizelaša (ali to pogotovo na balkanu svijet ne može da razumije i ukapira). Bolje je da zamjenite za benzinca ukoliko ste u mogućnosti. Toliko o pametovanju. :) Aditiv tekućina pomaže bržoj regeneraciji gareži koja se nakupi u DPFu, tako da ga je neophodno nadopuniti ukoliko ga fali, (a to zavisi od načina vožnje, a pošto su kratke relacije onda vam sistem i nestigne da ga upoterijebi pa time aditiv može da duže traje, a to nije dobro za dpf). Ukoliko vaš model ima i koristi aditiv, i ukoliko fali aditiv, dpf se brže začepi (jer i pored tekućine sva garež ne izgori nego se taloži i dalje u dpfu), a time gubite i snagu motora a i dpf će te na kraju morat zamjenuti što je skuplje nego dosuti aditiv. Ne održavanje DPFa može utjecati i oštetiti turbinu/turbo, EGR ventil, pa čak i motor/klipove. Softverska regeneracija može proći ali netraju dugo, isto tako i čišćenje/ispiranje dpfa pomaže ali ni to ne traje dovjeka. Kada ste recimo isprali dpf (pod uslovom da je uradio stručnjak u tome i da dpf prilikom toga nije oštećen iznutra), ponovo bi morali obnoviti proces nakon nekih 60.000 - 120.000 novih km pređenih. Pošto Ford preporučuje zamjenu dpf novim na 120.000km (znači, sve i da je bio aditiv i da ste vozili duge vožnje), zbog toga što regeneracija u toku vožnje ukloni veći dio gareža ali ne sav, Ford to preporučuje. U vašem slučaju bi trebali već dva puta da ste ga mjenjali novim da bi imali ispravno auto (pod uslovom da nefali ni aditiv). Mnogi dobri mehaničari koji imaju bolje skenere i aparate, mogu da vide koliko procenata vam je dpf začepljen, pa ako recimo taj procenat je prešao 50% and već možete početi da se pripremate za ispiranje mada nije toliko opasno i još može da se vozi bez problema. Ako je recimo taj procenat oko 70% i veći onda ispiranje i regeneracija dpfa se preporučuje što prije. Vožnja od 2000 obrtaja nije nikakav garant da će vam dpf duže trajati, za to je potrebna duža i brža vožnja da bi dpf dostigao temperaturu za regeneraciju u toku vožnje (npr. 30-40 minuta na 100/110 km/s). Hey Got some problem with my Ford focus its a 90 hp engine. 2010 year. I did Get the P0698 egr. And I have a buddy to help me change the old to a newer. And we did reset after install the new one. And after yeah lets say after 20 mins it come up with cheek engine light. And the engine not wanna get highter that 2000 rpm and noo speed. I did plug off the egr connection and The engine gooes fine for now. But used more fuel. Funny stuff this shit. Soo i dont noo that to do.. maby next stop Fordshop.

I had the same problem and the mechanic replaced the alternator. Nothing changed, the same symptoms, now he wants to make a computer test to see if the problem is with the steering pomp.

Thanks for sharing! I would recommend that you get it checked with the computer/scanner by someone who really knows what he/she is doing with it and have a scanner of a very good quality, otherwise you are risking to replace parts that doesn't need to be replaced and repair will be very costly for you. At the same time, when I was at the ford repair workshop, they also told me that they only can see one fault at the time and repair one fault at the time, and then run scanner again and see if there is any other faults. Let us know what you did found about it..

But what were the symptoms? For me: 1. Suddenly jerk. (at various speed: 90 Km/h - over 135 Km/h) 2. Check engine light 3. Shake the car, like one cylinder does not work. RPM does not goes over ~1750-2000; "Engine malfunction Service now" message, ESP sign. Once we scan it with OBD scanner and it shows "4rd cylinder injection problem" We filled it with premium fuel and drive it with high RPM through 29 Km and everything is OK! After in other case we delete the error-code, everything is OK! (My car is a Mk3 2011 model) But yesterday I got the message again without Check engine light. In Ford Focus MK 3 Club Hungary facebook-team a member said to me: It is a Fuel pressure sensor failor. So, what was your problem exactly? At now I search the solution to the problem. [The VALEO EGR valve is OEM product. The 1.6 TDCi engine originally is a PEUGEOT engine and the VALEO is a factory supplier]

Thank you for the question and sharing! My symptom was only one, after being driving on highway at 110 km/h for about 20-30 minutes, car suddenly got the message and sound "Engine Malfunction" and the car lost all the power (while driving, as you can see on the video). The only thing was to find safe place to park somehow. When that happened first two times, the solution was just to shut the car down completely for at least 5 minutes, and than turn the car on as nothing happened and continue driving (I had also tried to start it right after shutting it down but it didn't want to start). There was no other symptoms or any unusual reaction from the car, just lost of power. I didn't delete any messages due to obd I bought wasn't for this kind of errors (cheap one), but repair shop did erase it every time they have it at repair. My car is MK2 from 2011 (but model looks like 2010).. 1. First time, that car stopped I didn't have it for check, just continue to drive. 2. Second time, I booked time after that at repair shop and repair shop cleaned some cables around CKP sensor (didn't solve the issue). 3. Third time, when car stopped I couldn't start it anymore as before (I had to get it trailed to the repair shop), repair shop replaced EGR valve (that helped for about 500KM, and then same issue again, or it looks like it). 4. Fourth time, it happened at home (even tought I drive it a day before as normal), at the morning when I tried to start it, it wouldn't start. This time obd showed that egr valve could be the one that fails. Repair shop have trailed the car to the repair shop and replaced EGR valve once again, and it have been working since without any issues. On the last EGR valve repair shop have "Ford" sticker on it, so I'm not sure if they just repaired the last one or found another used one and put in my car (because of it was scratchy, and there is usually no ford stickers on the spareparts?). You can read the other comment from Jordan who also had issue with "fuel pressure rail sensor" which seems to be common issue on this type of cars. Yesterday I was in a FORD specialist car-service and the result of examination is carburetor-problem /injector - How do you know?/ It must change the all 4 because the live-values under operation are wrong at the present at the 4 cylinders. The car-mechanic guy deleted the possible error-codes from ECU and under the way to home the car was better then before. I can use the car, but They said, the problem will appear again at random time, so the change is recommended!

Hello and thanks for sharing! If you get same error codes again (or symptoms) after ECU is reseted, the issue persist and he is probably right about that you will then have to replace them. I've experienced it several times, mostly on higway. The issue was caused by fuel pressure rail sensor - as it turned out a common malfunction in tdci engines (my was 2008 1.6tdci 100hp, not 90 nor 109 to be exact) Thanks for sharing
