You've missed the best: Tanz der Vampire, the original cast recording, Vienna 1997, with Steve Barton, Cornelia Zenz, Aris Sas. Get the complete 2-disc set; the highlights CD is nothing compared to the full recording.

12:11, That "fact" is wrong. First of all, "Frankenstein" is the name of the doctor, not the monster, and nowhere in the book does it describe the monster walking with his arms out in front. Plus, sleepwalkers don't walk with their arms straight out either.

Best memories from my childhood. What a dream to have a place like this in the golden age of arcades. I miss it dearly. It was never the same after it became Boomers.

Good compilation. I personally would've showcased what albums the songs were on and in what capacity he was involved. And like the way you showed bits of all 3 versions of "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" I would've done that for all the songs you showed. Like "Left in the Dark" was done by Streisand but also Meatloaf and Jim Steinman and each sounded different. In fact many of the songs Steinman wrote he either performed or Meatloaf performed as well. Nowhere Fast is an example of when Meatloaf performed it after Fire Inc it had different lyrics. I am really surprised though that many songs that was on Steinmans solo album you only showed the covers. Like Original Sin. Except being Rock and Roll Dreams. I'm also surprised you didn't show Tonight is What it Means to be Young by Fire Inc. The last album by Meatloaf & Steinman Braver Then We Are is an underrated album. There's also the Bat Out of Hell Musical that featured a few songs that were written for it by him.

I'll also add my thoughts on the albums I love from Steinman Bad for Good by Jim Steinman A great album with kind of an experiment sound to it. While many songs are later covered & have a more polished sound to them the raw sound on this album is great. "Stark Raving Love" is a hit for me & one of the few that's exclusive to the album, outside of a few parts that are carried over to other songs. "Dance in My Pants" feels a bit out of place for the 80's but it's still a fun song that goes well with "Paradise by the Dashboard Light." Bat Out of Hell 1 & 2 by Meatloaf These are classics. Each song just spews epic in my opinion. Bat Out of Hell 3, by Meatloaf Only has 7 songs by Steinman but each of them are great. "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" is my favorite version of the song. Though all 3 have their unique sound to them with Pandora's Box having that rawness to it, Meatloaf with Marian Raven adds to the tragedy by giving it that operatic sound. Of course Dead Ringer by Meatloaf While not on par with Bat Out of Hell it still works to bring Meatloaf & Steinman's partnership to the 80's. "Dead Ringer for Love" with Cher just had that fun party sound to it. "More than You Deserve" brings us what ultimately brought Meatloaf and Steinman together as they met with the musical More Than You Deserve and is one of my favorite tracks overall. "I'm Gonna Love Her for the Both of Us" is another that I like to listen to. Bad Attitude by Meatloaf Only featured 2 songs due to a dispute between the label and Steinman (according to Meatloaf it was never with him personally). "Nowhere Fast," I mentioned above is kind of a cover of the Fire Inc song for the Streets of Fire soundtrack, but features different lyrics & I like both versions. "Surf's Up" is another cover from the solo Steinman album. Streets of Fire Soundtrack Two songs are by Jim Steinman with a newly created band called Fire Inc. It's the only album they would appear on but the hits here are "Nowhere Fast" & "Tonight is What it Feels Like to be Young" which is my favorite song on the album. Original Sin by Pandora's Box This is an incredibly hard album to find at a decent price but features many great songs that would be covered later like "Original Sin" & It's All Coming Back to Me Now " if you can find it get it. It has that same raw sound that Steinmans solo album has. Welcome to the Neighborhood by Meatloaf 2 songs here are by Steinman. Both "Original Sin" & "Left in the Dark" are incredible covers of songs on other albums. With Original Sin it was on the Pandora's Box album of the same name & the other was on Steinmans solo album & worth listening to. Footloose soundtrack Song by Bonnie Tyler Has one song co-written by Steinman "I Need a Hero" which is just amazing. Using the same beginning melody from "Stark Raving Love" you get kicked into high gear. Faster than the Speed of Light by Bonnie Tyler It has two songs, the title song as well as"Total Eclipse of the Heart " which is just an amazing song. I love how Bonnie's raspy voice goes so well with the lyrics Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fires by Bonnie Tyler 3 songs are featured here. "Ravishing" "Rebel without a Clue" & "Loving You's a Dirty Job" I've only listened to these a couple times but Steinman doesn't disappoint in his writing and it's a shame they didn't work much more. Free Spirit by Bonnie Tyler Tyler & Steinman provide two covers"Making Love Out of Nothing At All" & "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" & it actually works well both tracks. Braver Then We Are by Meatloaf This is the last album by both of these great musicians. While they were working on a 4th Bat Out of Hell album they unfortunately couldn't finish. Tracks on here that I enjoyed are "Who Needs the Young" "Going All the Way" "More" (Sisters of Mercy cover) & "Loving You's a Dirty Job " (Bonnie Tyler cover). Meatloaf did state the whole album was written as one song but the record label wouldn't let them release it that way. Bat Out of Hell: The Musical "What Part of My Body Hurts the Most" by Rob Fowler & Sharon Sexton great track that was going to be recorded by Meatloaf and I believe Patty Russo if they made that album they wanted. Now I've heard the songs by Air Supply, Sisters of Mercy, etc but I wanted to point out the songs and albums that really helped me appreciate the man's writing talent.

Just to be accurate, Jim Steinman did not write Celine Dion's Call the Man. He produced it but the song writers were Andy Hill and Peter Sinfield. Nor did he write In the Dark of the Night. He also produced that one but the song writers were Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.
