Would coosa be appropriate as a replacement floor/deck in an aluminum boat? Have no intention of glassing over the coosa, so it would remain expose to the weather in its factory condition. Assume it is well supported.
@BoatOutfittersАй бұрын
Coosa would work great as a floor/deck in an aluminum boat! However, you do need to cover the raw material, whether it be with paint or carpet. I imaging the fiberglass getting in your feet would not feel too good!

Ok this is sold in home depot and it is not called star board that is a company name same as xps has different colors all same xps well HDPE called puckboard at homedepot. Most cutting noards are made from same materials as well. Welding is actually using a powerful heat gun about $40 online and can be reformed if its ugly cause the person has ko clue how to weld this stuff if so use a heat gun again and a roller it will be smooth as you want it. Weld at a 90 degree and try to break it almost impossible to break but id like to see that test. These smaller pieces are all over the place just google what things are made from hdpe. Did you onow you can make molds by melting bottle caps down into goo the shape it let cure KZfaq that is mind-blowing how easy this is to work with. I should have a channel as well. 2. The only eay to sesl those air holesbis to just SIMPLY use a heat gun and a puddy knife.

Your online instructions seem to say you should countersink all the holes to prevent cracking. I did not see that in this video. Which is correct?

Great video. I like cooking on the boat and I have an idea for using my smaller Blackstone griddle on a similar rig. 1-Magma adjustable rod mount attached to starboard or maybe a layer of plywood. I might drill some holes in for the four legs of the griddle to nest in. Or something similar to secure it to the mount. Kind of like this, but not identical kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h9B4gMqJtZy8cpc.html

Good video, thanks. @Matt. Purchased the entire Roller ball track system in 2023 and the balls end up at the same end of the track eventually. Please advise on exactly what you describe as " this little divider that keeps the balls from passing the mid-point of the door". Is this part available on the website? The system is quite useless without installing something to keep the balls in place I find. Thank you! Phil

Hey Philip, we use a small flat head machine screw with two locknuts right in the middle of the lower carrier. The screw is counter-sinked flush, like the end caps are, and the lock nuts act as the midpoint stopper. Give us a ring at 866-633-7961 if you want to chat in more detial!

I've found that stainless steel cleats , although beautiful in appearance and durability can tend to break under stress and your ropes will tend to slide or slip over time. Galvanize is strong, durable and the surface assists in minimal rope slippage. Nice informative video guys. Thanks

Very informative video. 👍 Would you happen to know which door rack system the 2005 Sea Ray 260 Sundancer uses? It looks like there are ball bearings on the lower track and slides on the upper, and would you have these parts including he tracks available?

I'm not sure what you mean by leaning post. That's a boating term I am unfamiliar with. Is that another term for the compression post or is it the mast pulpit or possibly something entirely different?
@BoatOutfitters8 ай бұрын
Hey there! Leaning posts are typical on most center console boats. It is where the driver sits behind the helm! They are called "leaning posts" because most boaters find themselves leaning against it while driving. There is often open space underneath the backside of the leaning post that is a great space to add fishing or drawer storage!

After watching videos about Coosa, I decided to go the long dollar and build a folding tablesaw outfeed table out of it. The _RIGIDITY_ is what I needed. After paying about $400 for a 3/4" - 4x8, I went to the pickup area to see Coosa for the first time. I got my money back. The sheet was already warped badly. And it was flimsy. I could flex it easily. No way it would make an outfeed/assembly surface without major reinforcement. Not at all like the impression I had from these videos.

I purchased the CADDYCAN trash can and it was not enough for my day trips on the boat. It was great for small fishing line but not for several empty cans. It attached very easily to my T-Top hardware. Did not work good for my boat but works much better in my Bronco where I attach to back of the passenger seat's molly attachment. I replaced the CADDYCAN in my boat with the Topper that I put on my YETI Bucket. Love it. They are both great products but it is what works best for the situation.

What about bonding agents like the testors glue used for plastic models....its suppossed to melt the plastic together more than serve as an adhesive..i curious to try it with Star Board
@BoatOutfitters10 ай бұрын
Hey Norm, that's a good question. I don't believe that we have tried using Testers modeling glue. At the same time I do not believe it would form a structural bond that is as strong or stronger than mechanical fasteners.

FYI - Aaron from the "Born Again Boating" channel did a nice video on starboard, even does a nice shout out to @boat Outfitters on it. Long story short, at 5:28 in his video (Link to this spot: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eOBlfc5osKjTZnk.html ), he says you can scuff then heat the starboard pieces and use JB Weld Plastic to bond starboard together. I have used this method with 5200 and was able to hand-make my own phone holders out of starboard for my electronics box on my new hard top, however getting the phone holder to stay in 1 place without a good adhesive bond makes the holder useless. So I followed the scuff & torch method with 3M 5200 fast cure and it worked really good for what I wanted to accomplish. I not only mounted my phone holder, but I also made a USB power plate and used 5200 to bond the starboard to the side of the E-box. Maybe I'll do my own video on those projects.

Several questions asked regarding foam and all but didn’t hear mention of lag screws with the install of decking installed. Meaning, will the lag screws provided be long enough or strong enough to penetrate the foam and the fiberglass for securing?
