Beware! I loaded 5 slugs, the second launched th fiber optic down range and by the fourth the bolt completely broke off from the pump rails. Only shot 25 birdshot rounds before that, otherwise this gun was brand new. Gun is Cheap junk. 0/10 would not buy again.

Have a Alaskan 44 magnum... transfer bar rattles and is completely normal. It's not a hammer block design. Needs to wiggle to drop out of the way after gun fires a round. Some ppl use a small piece of paper and add it to the transfer bar connection to frame to get rid of rattle. Doesn't bother me. Thanks for the video.

I don’t think it’s anything to worry about with these transfer bars.Ruger will still be as good as smith/Wesson, Colt ,or any other top gun company manufacturing revolvers

I own several S&W revolvers and absolutely no ratting. For the kind of money you are paying for Super Alaskans there shouldn't be any type of rattling.Ruger needs to tighten up!!!

Hey Bill, thanks for taking the time to do your reviews. You're going out after whitetail tomorrow, you take the Green Shrew or you take the Pika?

WE ARE NOT SHORT! WE ARE VERTICALLY CHALLANGED! LOL.. ANOTHER REASON I WANT A SHREW. THUMBS UP! I SHOOT THREE FINGERS UNDER, CANT MY BOW WRIST SLIGHTLY, ANCHOR AT THE SIDE OF MY EYE BONE. I STARTED NOT MISSING DEER,,, WHEN I WENT TO THIS PROVEN METHOD. I GREW UP THAT WAY TOO. SWITCH.!!! AND WATCH JOEL TURNERS METHODS OF IRON MIND ON KZfaq. HE WILL HELP YOU LIKE CRAZY, WHEN YOU DO HIS EYES CLOSED TEN SECOND HOLD BACK.

I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN. I ENCOURAGED BODNIK TO LABEL AND NUMBER THEIR WOODS. SO WE CAN BE ON THE SAME PAGE. LIKE: I WANT LIMB WOOD #3 AND RISER WOOD #7. ALMOST ALL THE BOYERS MAKE THIS BIG MISTAKE, IT DRIVES ME CRAZY. HOPEFULLY IT WILL CHANGE. THEY ARE MY CHOICE OF ALL THE SHORT BOWS I HAVE RESEARCHED. I PLAN TO ORDER A SHREW CLASSIC HUNTER II.

If you are interested in a 50" bow check out the Bodnik Ghost or Bodnik Firestick. They are both made by Henry as well and besides the riser (which is made from Mycarta on the bows i mentioned) they are very similar to the Shrew bows. I own the Firestick and it is just lovely.

Hello, This video was a while back and not sure if your still active on here? I am currently researching the Shrew bows and am trying to decide which one to go with. Classic Hunter II, Super Shrew II or the Little Favourite II. After owning the Little Favourite & Classic Hunter for a while, which do you like best and what are the differences in how they shoot? Also how would you say they compare to other traditional bows you have shot? Have you shot other Shrew bows since this video? Thanks for the videos!

Thanks for your honest review. It really helps especially when you don't have A dealer near you that carries that bow. I also have a Kodiak magnum and I love it. But wanted to check out the longbows so I ordered a 54" at 45 pounds the same as my Kodiak mag. The bow seems finicky also it shoots constantly low no matter what the distance, at 20 yards 8 to 10" low. I'm interested in purchasing the 52" that you like but was wondering if it impacts like the Kodiak magnum as far as Is where you're looking? My kodiac mag hits exactly where I'm looking if not it's my form that took a dump. Curious on your opinion between the 2 where they impact since you own both as well.... thank you in advance.

Great video, thank you. If you don't mind I have questions. I own a 1966 Kodiak magnum and love it, it hits where I aim and I also shoot instinctive... I wanted to purchase a longbow. I did, a 54" I love it, it looks great. I love how it feels but it always shoots about 8 to 10" low no matter what. I'm interested in purchasing the 52" Hunter 2. So my question is have you shot the Kodiak magnum and does it hit where you aim to compare it to the one that you have now? Where I live there's no place To test shoot them. Thanks in advance.

Yup, just bought mine and didn't realize it until I got it home. Either way, it's build like a tank and OK with +p rounds for bear attacks.

I have no issue with these broad heads. I have bought them in all weights. They all spun true and weighed very close. On trad gear and 25 yards and in they do the job just fine. I think the 200 grainer is the best deal overall.

Bill, the video really helped me out on this bow. I just got it, pulled it out and saw what little, unhelpful instructions it has. Mine is missing the slide that you pointed out so if it wasn't for you I could have really messed things up with it as I am used to hunting with a straight up compound bow. Long story short, thanks so much man from Ex New Yorker to New Yorker (I grew up in Middletown). Great video! Helped me out tons!

I bought the 200 grain jager broadheads from my shop and out of the three, one spinned true one had a little wobble and the third wobbled a lot. I hope that its just a bent tip from the factory sharpening because i realy do like how the blades feel. 3 pack 1.75mm thick stainless steel for 30 euro's is a bargain.
