So this is an old video, but to anyone watching now, get the newborn prefolds. The ones at GMD are considerably larger than what we used on our newborns (DSQ preemies, to infants, to premiums used to be the sizing standard) and you really can't go straight to yellow edge unless you're expecting a very large (over 10-12 pounds) baby.

Hi do all the nickis covers have the elastic in front or only the newborn size? Thank you

This bag is sooooo cute! You're a great packer! Noticed some of the products you're using and you totally need to try Young Living's products. You'll LOVE them and it will be pretty eye-opening. Find me on IG @fresh.abundant.bloom and message me for info and samples, if you're interested:) Thanks for the video!

How big was he before he started outgrowing the little joeys? I'm planning to cloth diaper my first newborn but 4th child. All 3 of my babies were 9 and 10lbs so trying to decide if it's worth the investment with bigger babies. I don't think I'll have a smaller newborn. Lol
@happilyeverdrummond54836 жыл бұрын
yourmom102938 The little joeys are very snug and small which I love but they definitely aren’t the most practical money wise. My son outgrew the size and absorbency at 2 Months or so. It’s not a lot of time but I loved having them. My son was 7 pounds 2 oz at birth though!
@102938mom6 жыл бұрын
Happily Ever Drummond Thank you for responding. I found a good deal on some used little joeys. They are definitely tiny. I'm just going to use them in the hospital so maybe I can get some use out of them. Lol

I was getting stressed and overwhelmed trying to find all this stuff in good condition in the b/s/t groups. I just subscribed to keep up with you and definitely learn more of your cloth diapering journey / content! I love making “friends” here since everyone thinks I’m crazy when lt comes to diapering! Lol. Plus supporting other growing channels! ❤️❤️

Did you find he outgrew the absorbency of the AIO's before outgrowing the fit. I love trim cloth on nb's and I have been hearing mixed feedback. What was your experience
@happilyeverdrummond54836 жыл бұрын
Yes on a few, he definitely did. He out grew the absorbancy on the Little Joeys pretty early. Those are small fitting so it really wasn't a big deal because they worked so well for us then he was tiny. The Thirsties diapers all held their own for quite a while, as did the BAIO. I really loved having the AIO option though! So trim and comfy.

@happilyeverdrummond54836 жыл бұрын
The absorbancy of the AIOs was outgrown before the size because my baby wasn't a huge baby but they were still so great to have for under some outfits! If you change often you probably won't have too much of a problem

What did you find worked best for night time diapering with a newborn? I've only cloth diapered an almost toddler and he's almost through potty training, so I'm interested in what works for clothing a newborn.
@happilyeverdrummond54836 жыл бұрын
I found that newborns wake up so frequently during the night to eat, that cloth diapering them at night time is just as easy as during the day. I would change him each time he woke up during the night to feed and it worked out great. Once they sleep a little longer stretches I found that fitteds and a stay dry liner (to wick away wetness) were enough. They will most likely be out of newborn sized diapers when they start sleeping through the night. :)

I cloth diapered with my daughter but not in the newborn stage. Im currently building newborn stash for baby #2. I have so many Thirsties newborn AIO because I loved the OS AIO with my daughter. This is gonna be my first time trying the Nicki's diapers brand though. I liked your video! I can't wait to start making cloth diaper videos again ☺️ it's been about a year. My daughter is potty trained now.
@happilyeverdrummond54836 жыл бұрын
I love the Thirsties Newborn AIOs especially the Thirsties Natural Newborn AIOs. They are so nice! The Nicki's brand diapers have not failed me yet! I haven't been cloth diapering long because my son is now a little over one month old and we ended up taking a break waiting for his umbilical cord stump to finally fall off. We were diapering him with the cord and some of our diapers had the umbilical cord snap down but some did not. We would fold them down but he was kind of small so it was just easier to use up our Babyganics Newborn disposables that we had on hand.

I Highly recommended buying the newborn Prefolds. Newborns have tiny butts and a small is just going to be way to bulky. I did the exact same thing and regretted it and we went able to start cloth right off from the start. My daughter was almost 9 pounds and needed our newborn stash for a month.
@happilyeverdrummond54837 жыл бұрын
Definitely look into that. Thanks for the suggestion and information based off your experience. I have quite a few newborn AIO and other options that I think I will be okay in a pinch. Plus GMD ships so quick that I can easily add to my stash if need. So thank goodness for that!
