a tip, press ESC and wait for the menu be responsive again while on approach just before gwps says minimum, and let airport load. Its an MSFS thing, i have a good PC but sometimes it does this.

Appreciate your videos. Please tell me when should the auto throttles be disengaged. Somehow I have missed this important issue. Thank you.
@musicalaviator
@musicalaviator Ай бұрын
The MD11 auto thrust, like that on the 777, is certified to be used all the way to touch down. Once weight on wheels is detected, the throttle will disengage having pulled to idle power around 20 feet radio altitude.

Hey Trent good stuff! If the elevators feel "too big," try adjusting reactivity in your control options. Sensitivity-- Reactiv(ity) is at the bottom. Pull it back about 20%.
@musicalaviator
@musicalaviator Ай бұрын
They feel too small in the first 20% of movement, and then suddenly get "large" the more you pull. then you get a weird rubber banding thing going on where a small movement results in a large pitch up and sudden disappearence of the pitch up to nearly neutral, which makes the elevator bit back in and pitch up hard again. You can do a massive pilot induced oscillation by just holding the yoke back at about 50% of travel authority. Not just on the MD11 mind you, some of the default planes show that tendancy too. Weirdly I feel the MD11 responds better to the elevator at flap 35.

Just reading up on the ils issue, apparently if manually select the frequency it has this bug, I read it auto selects like a airbus and will avoid the problem
@musicalaviator
@musicalaviator Ай бұрын
@@splashhs1 got to normal intercept altitude and it hadn't selected freq, suspect cos it's an airport that closed in 1998 and is now a park.

@@musicalaviator can confirm, it did auto select, maybe a bit later than would seem normal, I'm sure there will be plenty of bugs fixed in a update soon.

Regarding the APU starting, you can start it with the APU PWR button on the ELEC panel. By using that method, it will automatically shut down after engine start. It will continue to run after engine start if you started it with the START/STOP button.

I'm disappointed with my purchase. The aircraft has many issues such as rough texturing on the exterior, missing airframe hydraulic lines, and landing lights that are poorly modeled. The beacon light isn't even a 3D model, and the spoilers seem to be floating with no proper mechanisms modeled. Despite the high price of $80, the quality of the engines spinning animation is outdated. When I expressed my concerns on Discord, I was met with dismissive responses from TFDI supporters. They either focused on the fantastic cockpit and ignored the exterior issues, or claimed that it's still early and will improve over time despite the two years of development. It's frustrating considering we paid more than what PMDG charges for their 777, yet we're being told we're being unreasonable to criticize the current state of the addon. I believe that if reputable companies like Fenix, PMDG, Blacksquare, A2A, or Justflight released a product with similar issues at such a high price, they would receive well-deserved criticism. It's disappointing that TFDI chose to release their product in this state.

Why do you mumble when talking to atc?
@musicalaviator

Tiredness, trying to speed through speech at the speed of thought instead of tongue, other psychological unconscious reasons to do with multitasking and not giving enough brain cpu cycles to speech. The list goes on.

Does your natural trumpet have a spit valve, or do you have to twirl it like a French horn?
@musicalaviator
@musicalaviator Ай бұрын
All twirly like a french horn. I usually just take the tuning crook/mouthpiece off, and flip it upside down. A few taps or bumps to encourage the water to drip down the entire leadpipe, and then reassemble. If I have less time, I have found twirling it the other way, blowing some air through till it starts gurgling at the backbow then flipping it forward to blow it out the bell end takes less time and you can leave the crook (and it's position for tuning) in place - But then you have the odd look of holding a trumpet over your head and blowing into it.

It's a descending 5ths sequence that starts on a (2nd space in the treble stave) A, A(g-f)G G(f-e)F, F(e-d)E E(d-c)D, D(c-Bb) and on down. Yeh it gets pretty low. I end the piece hanging on the low (2 legerlines down) A for a good 5 bars (close to my max lung capacity for one breath at fortissimo)
