Pool pumps don't filter anything. They pump water yes. The Pool Filter Filters the water.

I plugged it in and nothing happened. However the floater isn't submerged. How can I get it to work manually

Try submerging the floater in water and resetting the pump. Check for any blockages and then test it again.

Great review. I have a well pit next to my inground pool to pump out groundwater that has a diameter of 7.5 inches. Do you think this will fit? The dimensions on amazon are a little confusing.
