This lesson was very helpful. I had two attempts to start learning Lithuanian in the past. Once I was in Lietuvos Kalba institutas but they sat me with a group who were on third level I think. They already knew some stuff, while I knew nothing. So that didn't work out. Then there was a professor at me uni teaching Lithuanian for free, a lot of students learned the language and stuff, but me and him just couldn't get along. This is my third attempt and I learned more in this video than in those two classes put together.

Man tai labai patinka!! I love these short cultural lessons. I will be practicing my Lithuanian skills, which I learned from your online class, when I’m in Vilnius this Summer for 8 weeks!-Thank you🙏 You know, I have been meaning to ask you: did you live in the USA in the past?-Im asking because your English accent is totally “American”😂-so, I’m just very curious-I don’t think you have ever told us how/where you picked up your “accent”😁

As a Polish I'm shocked (or not so much because I expected it) how much the grammar is close to ours, and how far the words themselves are from any that I know from Slavic languages :) it's fascinating.

Is the structure the same for “I must go”?
@spokenlithuanian718624 күн бұрын
Yes. It would be, "Aš privalau", but you use it the same way. The meaning is also very close as is in English language between "I have to" and " I must". The only difference is that " I must not" and "I don't have to" don't mean the same thing. The first one means "you cant" and the second one means "there is no need". In Lithuanian language both "Aš neturiu..." and "Aš neprivalau" would mean "There is no need". :)
