Good clean up detail, neat idea using the back of the RTV, perfect way to haul and dump. Might want to wear leather gloves, Poison Ivy vines are hard to see as you grab branches. Also might want to think about a 2x4 as a push stick instead of reaching in there, if you slip, ouch.

Good video on comparison, I did not know parts were interchangeable. Are the parts all from China? Thanks too for showing the various parts and how the stack up sided by side. We have 200 acres, the majority is oak, hickory, a little cherry and the treasured black walnut. My neighbor just bought a sawmill and getting it under cover now I hope to get logs to shortly. I make cutting boards, trivets and other wooden items, besides the normal need for dimensional lumber, from the wood.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead21 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I think at least the majority of the parts from those brands (and other well know brands) are manufactured in China. I don’t the specifics. I don’t know how many parts are interchangeable, but I thought it would be interesting to start with the main parts and find out. 🤷🏼♂️

Safety is simply a good habit. Ear protection is affordable nowadays. I keep safety glasses and 30 dB earmuffs on my tractor, in the shop, and in my truck. It's all about accessibility rather than inconvenience. Watching my father replace hearing aid batteries is all the reminder I need. Have you tried the NIOSH Sound Level Meter app on your phone? Chippers and shredders are great on any property.

Good morning, I have a couple of Woodland Mills products and have had zero problems. I watch all your videos and have to say I did not like this video and its message about Woodland Mills. I understand you need to promote the product however in my opinion it should be done without bashing another brand.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead3 күн бұрын
I don’t think you actually listened to what I said. Go watch again. I never say one negative thing about Woodland Mills. Because I like the brand and what they stand for. The truth is, they charge more money for a comparable product because they provide top notch support, warranty, and customer service. 🤷🏼♂️ No apologies here. I do really appreciate you watching my videos and mean no disrespect. We just see this differently. 👊

As a Woodland Mills owner, I have been extremely satisfied with our HM-126 sawmill. I do think that a lot, maybe most, of the products we purchase from offshore companies do share components and engineering. I haven't seen the Mechmaxx sawmill up close and personal, but from your video it looks as though the sawhead frame components might be a little lighter duty on the Mechmaxx. Like you said, there needs to be differences here and there to help offset the cost variance. But the biggest one by far, to me anyway, is the engine that powers the mill. I can run 5 miles down the road to my local Kohler dealer, and pick up what I need, even to the point of getting warranty repair. That's a pretty substantial difference right there, vs. some of the "clone" powerplants.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead3 күн бұрын
Totally agree. The good news is Mechmaxx has switched over and is putting Kohler engines on their new mills. Thanks for watching! Happy milling!

Those welded stops on the MechMaxx is a good idea. I might be adding them to my Woodland Mills. If the bunks are interchangeable than move them around so at least the first bunk has the stop. You could also put the greens bunks at the end as most logs won’t be 16’.

Good ideas! I think that’s worth doing.

As a Canadian who purchased a Woodland Mills WC46 Chipper, I can say that Woodland Mills offers excellent customer service and customer support. If my WC46 needs a part, my downtime will be as short as possible. My only issue with Woodland Mills was that they shipped and delivered my chipper quicker than I imagined. I really was not ready to receive the product so quickly. They are faster than Amazon when it comes to getting something out the door and on a truck. Great video - It will be interesting to see what you think of the different styles of log dogs. Have a safe day cutting.

Helpful Informative video 🙏 the steep banks you could plant a few evergreen creeping ground cover plants that tolerate freezing temperatures, cypress has some amazing varieties in different shades, with a few big boulders grouped in some areas to add interest and texture. These would add a softening cover to the banks in winter. Up on the high lip you could also plant a few weeping willows? They’ll eventually hang down to frame your pond, soften the winds and hide the sharp banks. weeping willows are deciduous so they’ll add character to the frame of your lake in the fall. The creeping evergreen ground covers & boulders will be a winter back up insurance to maintain the banks disguise. Just a suggestion. Have no idea if those trees exist or will survive in your area as I’m in sunny Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 👍🙌

My suggestion would be get a sickle mower 9 foot bar to cut around the pond. One that has a belt running to the wobble box so you can operate the bar over center to cut the slope bank.
