Didnt realize they still made the versa. Its sad all its competitors have been discontinued, like the fit, spark, rio, ect. These small cars were a great class of car.

I got a 2024 Versa because of these. You know I had to get the 5 speed. So fun to drive. I use it for my 45 minute commute to work everyday.

Nice back roads ! It does seem silly. Here in Czech Republic, the highway speed is 130km/h ( about 81 mph - so very close to the stated safe max. And _everyone_ speeds here ), and just over the border, the de-restricted autobahn starts almost immedately. The max rated speed is stamped on the tyre wall. I believe the s plus package requires the cvt transmission, even in the S.Trim. I love my 2024 Versa S Manuel and I got a smoking deal on it at about $1700 off of MSRP

I have a dealer in New Hampshire had a Versa S manual for sale. They had a $3,000 markup on it. They actually did that with all of their cars. 🤦‍♂️

Nissan imo could capture the budget car market , with the Versa being the cheapest new car in the US plus the great gas mileage , but they don't even advertise the car at all . If they tragically stop making these I chalk it up to marketing failure . The car itself is great and fits the budget sub compact niche perfectly but nobody knows about them lol .

How is the headlight performance at night. Good pattern and spread? Nice sharp cutoff? Or, are they blotchy or not well focused? Would you consider installing LED bulbs?

2 questions. How does this 0-60 time compare to the CVT? Could the speedo be calibrated to the higher trim models with the bigger wheels?

You are the absolute authority on the versa manual. Nobody covers them better than you. Thank you for that! I do disagree on your philosophy on pushing oil change intervals though. If you take any high mileage engine and pull the valve cover off, you can always tell if it had long or neglected oil changes. You see the varnish or even sludge. And the valvetrain, of course, is just the tip of the iceberg! All this may not matter much to you because you tend to not keep them very long. As for myself, personally, I'd change oil and filter every 5 thousand miles with full synthetic. Pull the valve cover on that engine in 200 thousand miles, and all you'd see is bright shiny metal and no visible wear.

Check area where oil filter connects engine block. Seals at that joint fails and have the change the whole assembly since o ring is not sold separately. I had to do it on 2014 glk250

Another common leak that you'll see at some point is the vacuum pump on the passenger side of the engine. Rumor has it that an oil filter o-ring from a Mercedes m112 oil filter will fit that big vacuum pump seal just fine. The original seal is excessively expensive, or it has been discontinued

Does the belt feel sticky, like it had oil leaking onto it? It's probably the oil filter housing as it enters the block. The oil filter housing has 3 pieces, the cap, and two cast aluminum pieces. There's 2 gaskets that are on the oil filter housing (excluding the cap o-ring).

I filed a complaint. I have a 2022 Nissan Versa (regular model) 5-Speed. First happened to me about a year after I bought the car and thought nothing of it. Has happened two more times since. Happens to me when you don't turn the key quite enough and the vehicle stalls when starting. The vehicle enters a limp mode with almost no acceleration. The max speed seems to be around 55mph and takes 30+ seconds to hit that speed. If I turn the car off, wait 15 seconds, and then restart the car. The problem is fixed. Seems to me like Nissan must have incorrectly programmed the computer in some way.

Ive been looking at getting one of these. I had one for a rental and was impressed for whatt it was. I have thought about the mirage My social services but I think these for a little bit more money are Head and shoulders better than the mirage. Yes you give up a couple miles per gallon but it's still pretty impressive. I had one as a rental. They make custom diesel Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, Yukon Denalis, and Escalades and have a contract for the Secret Service, probably for bullet proof versions. Even if you were burning noticeably more fuel leaving it third on the backroads, which I doubt you are, the rule of thumb would be, gas is cheaper than clutch. Also how did you get it out of llimp mode?

All that you said towards the end about the aura of the S class is true. It is well worth the upkeep in my opinion.

As with many things, nothing good ever lasts. Nufiinish is not what it used to be. There is at least one KZfaq video out there that covers this. You'll notice...once it's brought to your attention...that even the liquid's color is different. Now, whether the other waxes/sealants have gotten better or Nufinish has gotten worse, the reality is Nufinish ranks as only average now.

Looks like West Virginia. Beautiful... A couple of things. I don't give a hoot about push-button start. I see it as a useless gimmick. But for any car at any price built in the last 20 years, I find it absolutely unacceptable not to have keyless entry. I wonder if it could be added as an accessory. While I'm griping, any large screen festooned in the middle of a dashboard that doesn't, at least, offer Android Auto or Apple Carplay is a monumental waste of space, and worse, a needless distraction. And if what I've read elsewhere is correct, it is not easily upgraded after the fact. Mirage gives you these things standard. Just a head-scratcher why Nissan would give you something like parking sensors in such a small car...something I would guess most buyers wouldn't miss... instead. Nevertheless, I found a dealer close by that has a few in stock--any color you like, as long as it's dark grey--and I'm planning on buying one ASAP.

I just got a 2024 manual. 170 miles on it after today’s commute. It seems like the AC compressor cycles on and off very frequently. Is that normal for you?

What I like the most about my 2024 Versa S 5MT besides the fuel economy is the slight surge in power when you shift into 3rd from second as you are giving it gas. I know it is not a high horsepower or torque car but given that it is a lighter vehicle, you really don't need that much power to feel the surge. The 5 Speed manual Versa is 130 lbs lighter than the CVT model.

Great video series! I've got a '24 5mt Versa myself. Could you do the 5mt community a huge favor and post a video of the sound from the transmission in idle after a drive? I've noticed that, on some Versas, the throwout bearing tends to emit a rattling noise in idle when warm.
