Using the method of breaking the big numbers down, we can use the idea that 783 is made up of 720 and 63. 720/9 is 80, and 63/7 is 9, hence our answer is 89! Hope this helps. As a said practice makes perfect with this technique!

A very fair point and congrats for solving! Topics such as indices can be made fairly simple even for the hardest questions if you understand the basic rules for them. Clearly you understand them well!
