Oops, completely missed this video. I presume this is the peaty impy? It's been ages so can't remember. Turned out amazing that one and only a mere 10.5%! I really loved this beer and need to make it again. Had a bit of chocolate and light coffee to it and was nice easy drinker. Brown ale is somewhere between a bitter and porter in my book but with a light body. I can't even remember if I did a video on this one. My memory doesn't go back further than lockdown, the first one 🤣

I think the water helps my beers for sure but complete temperature control is the thing that had the biggest effect. Still get some dud beers along the way though. Making a good starter for liquid yeast too (unless it's the Imperial brand) is a definite must to avoid underpitching.

I think that was the one I did with the hops I grew out the back of my house. They are supposed to be saaz but dont taste like it at all. Used them in a dunkel/oktoberfest type beer I threw together on brewday during this years harvest and the beer turned out great so think I'll go down that route again next year. Did use some citra leaf in the boil to be fair now I think of it.

I loved that brown ale. Used a specific Belgian malt called cafe light which gave it a light coffee aroma and some brown malt which added a bit of chocolate. Lovely, only 3.9% too. I had your raspberry wheat and liked it, have another bottle and am going to do a comparison with mine which is a sour Berliner and turned out great.

Jesus, nearly choked on my pint when I saw that haircut. You'd know you're in quarantine. From memory, this had a load of chocolate, brown malt and dark crystal. It tasted really nice and smokey for the first two weeks in the keg then the chocolate flavour took over. Still a bit on the back end but I should have used more of the peat malt. Will know for next time. Hops were Apollo and Columbus and they worked great with the dark malts.

I've always found comet to be somewhere between cascade and Amarillo. Gives off a bit of grapefruit and a little orange for me. I used it with galaxy once and it was really good in combination.

That's interesting. I haven't had mine yet, hopefully get to them at weekend. Your pilsners always tasted very clean and I think the idea was to try and mimic the Pilzen water to see if it would make a difference. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much difference either or at least not after 4 months conditioning time. Quite looking forward to trying these now.

My beers always ferment out which makes them stupidity drinkable. Sometimes it's overpitch but I'm sure it has something to do with mash temps. I should probably take more readings but am too lazy.

Great side by side. I'm with you with not investing in ro water. I think there are lots of other areas in brewing I can still tweak and improve. Hope you are keeping well and staying safe. Cheers mate

WC is either water closet, eau de toilette or west coast pale with amarillo, cascade and comet. Definitely one of the three but I can't remember which.

The yeast in that was something called New Zealand Pale Ale whatever the heck that is. Might get it again next time I order from crossmyloof. It was a decent beer but I wasn't sure about the porridge oats, thought they left a funny taste so sticking with wheat next time.
