Hi In this scenario, u can apply for university transfer after going their in usa only, u will get official documentation from your new University once joined, no need to change university name in the passport. You can continue studies like that only as your details in homeland security will be changed by the new university.

You can book visa slot with dummy sevis id, (dummy refers to other university which is available in hand now) and book the date. Visa dates for F1 open today, still open now. Just generate chalan in us travel docs with the available sevis id and pay visa fee, book the visa date, by the date you booked visa you can fill ds form with new sevis id university details and proceed for visa interview. Don’t worry about old sevis id number details which u gave at us travel docs when u generated visa chalan, once u filled ds form and update in your profile at us travel docs, it will change automatically. Example: u have X i20 in hand and paid visa fee booked visa dates, later u got Y i20, just fill ds 160 form with Y University details and go to OFC they will change. For main interview u r with Y university.

If u still not attended visa interview you can change the university if u get new sevis i20 before to the visa interview date. But don’t try to change after visa before traveling. If u want to reschedule the appointment it’s simple. Just login to ur cic portal and check options on the top left corner click on reschedule option in it.

SEVIS is valid only for 1 year after that must pay again.

It will come in 2 days, u can wait and go to ofc directly and show the receipt of transfer applied they will accept. As it is delay from them. Sevis fee paid receipt valid for 1 year

Hi, transferring within one month is the actual rule all International students need to bound with it. You can return to your home country and can go again with in 6 months of ur visa stamping date with is for next intake. please don’t overstay. If you overstay board of entry will cancel your visa. In this case u have to reappear for visa again.
