Since you post these in batches, the 2nd often shows up before the first. I always end up opening it up in a tab and waiting a while for part 1 to drop, then watching them in order. Is the CD necessary? would the cardboard be too wobbly and unstable without it? Would the drawbacks of not using one be actually impactful when assembling the table or playing?
@dungeonsanddoombiscuit25 күн бұрын
You can totally use cardboard, i just like using things that i have kept for no reason. There are upsides to using plastic though. It doesn't get soggy, it's more durable, having a standard base size tends to prevent making pieces too big to store, and i'm sure loads more.

Your tower looks really cool as well. Reminds me of some ruins from a cliff dwelling people. Seems better for wargaming than D&D since pieces on the towers are only visible from half the table at once. How do you manage this in play? I'm learning myself. Not sure I want to use a lazy Susan all the time, but I personally love tall terrain with diverse verticality.
@dungeonsanddoombiscuit26 күн бұрын
I pull taller pieces back to the "out of bounds" border where I am sitting when I run games. I often have buildings or something across the front of me during Sci fi games to show they are in a town, and less scatter representing the street area. You can do the same thing to create atmosphere with tall terrain.
@BF-rn3oz26 күн бұрын
Great talk, good content. If you want to manage the length of the video, film the whole thing and fast forward through the slow bits. Record your banter as a voice over separately, commenting on the process as you watch it in post production. I don't necessarily mind the long multipart vids. Maybe that's just your style. People can watch your vids in the background while they do their own crafts
@dungeonsanddoombiscuit26 күн бұрын
I really don't want to edit. I work a full time job and have an online mini business. That with kids and dogs makes me hesitate to increase my production time.

We had a mirror realm thing at one point and while the half dragon shattered the halfling mirror from in one hit, turned a corner and saw himself holding the actual halfling against a wall and...well...that mirror form didn't survive the body tackle. They had all of our stats and skills. I literally killed myself (the most powerful in the group) in one hit with rage.
