Now that’s how to make a video. Whoever did this take a bow. That’s how to Segue way searching transition between pieces of music or rather a segue way multiple times of different contest platforms Congratulations. I have just been discharged from from St James’s as I’ve got stage 4 bladder cancer and have been catching up on the results

A fantastically accurate and consistent performance of a 115 year old piece, played by the band every year, for the last 25 years. If there is ever a reference of performance to gauge a brass band against, this could well be it.

Loved this ..... proving brass bands are NOT staid and boring but full of talent and fun , especially when you get players that can play EVERYTHING , including the kitchen sink .......just brilliant .

A fabulous band Maybe the MD should have looked at the lyrics of “Lo He comes with clouds descending “ before making such strange phrasing choices In saying that , the direction was faultless and , oh my, what a soprano cornet player!!Of course he could have been following the third verse 😉. The band is the best in the world to my ears. Bravo!!

Listened Fodens play this at the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight back in the day. Howard Snell conducting his own arrangement. The scene he set beforehand of the Roman Army marching in the distance on the other side of a hill but getting ever closer was so true. He said you'll know when they arrive and its true. Fantastic playing of a fantastic arrangement of a wonderful piece of music!

I heard Harry Mortimer live in the Vara radio Studio in Hilversum in 1974. I used to go there as I loved theatre organs and they had one in one of their studio's. Harry however was playing in the large studio were the plan was to install in 1966 the former BBC ex Reginald Foort theatreorgan. I heard many brassbands but with Harry as the conductor it just was very special. Apart from learning to play the organ I wanted to play the Cornet because of the unique sound . What a great concert it was Harry and his all star Brass. The BBC theatreorgan was never installed in that studio..........however some 50 years later the former Avro radio organ was installed in the big studio..........it sounds great and every time I go there I remember me going with dad to hear the great concert Harry and his band.........great video with fantastic playing!!!
