this is an amazing video, I gave it a like Fire emblem awakening is my favorite game of all time due to how influential it is for me.This was my first fire emblem game and the first play through i didnt know about supports, pair ups, or that you could even change the chracters weapons lol, but the game just drew me into the world, its story and characters. I still remember how id always sneak playing the game late into the night due to my parents not allowing me to play games for more then an hour a day. This game for me just grows better and better like fine wine. Yes its not perfect and i do have some criticisms, but I love this game so much. it genuinely changed my life, which the only other game i can say did that was fire emblem 3 houses. This game brought me into loving anime, strategy games, and the games art style helped me to get into drawing. SO thank you fire embelm awakening for changing my life

I need to replay this again. I remember falling inlove with the premise and how the game started, even if I didnt like how some plot threads went down towards the end of the game. Personally the way I got past the absurd difficulty spike from the later parts was reclassing about 6 or so people into Snipers.... also abusing Imca's specials to fit in as many enemies on screen to bombard.

Daybreak 2 has been announced for early 2025! Very exciting! Do you think this means Kai could be released in late 2025 in the west? I feel late 2025 up until summer 2026 seems like a reasonable release window.

I love alisa and the only time I had issues with her was in CS4 where she technically broke up with rean which was stupid on her part for a variety of reasons but she realized her mistake at the end which impressed me all the same I'm glad to see people are showing and explaining the love she should be getting.

And well, here we are less than half a year later, and somehow even the calm and measured optimism of this video is feeling downright conservative considering how much has been announced or leaked, and how quickly we're getting it. It's astonishing how much brighter the future of these games is looking these days.

One big thing kind of irritating me with the game is that each battle resets the last memorized battle option, so I find myself having to renavigate the same menu selections less intuitively. I would also like to see more path options that aren't functionally similar at all.

I was looking forward to it for years,, I even helped fund the game. When I finally played it a few weeks ago I couldn't bring myself to even finish the game. It was suikoden, but flandarized.

it is still with just a couple hours gameplay in my Ps5 library, it is way to slow for me, maybe a update could fix that, since it is just technical stuff, like text speed and transitions.

Almost unplayable on Switch, maybe something you should mention so people dont waste their money? 15-20 fps, extremely long transition times between loading screens and inventory. Game crashes etc etc,

I really tried to like this game. The gameplay's good, it looks fantastic, the soundtrack's great but its writing really put me off completely. Especially how characters were written. I played for about 3 hours and sadly never looked back. 505 really wasn't the publisher this game deserved :/

@@CommRio 505 were responsible for its localisation. Among others, they hired Brian Gray (Core scenario translator) and i just don't like how he writes, as he's known to take plenty liberties with his work. At the end of the day, just personal preference. On top of that, i tried the German version, which turned out to be a 1:1 (machine?) translation of the English script...including quirks of the English language that don't work in German... It was...comically broken :D Overall, i just really couldn't get into it. I don't like Gray's work and had no alternative, so i dropped it. No refunds, because i wish R&B all the best, i just wished they ended up with a different publisher.

@@johnanth It's less about specific examples and more a general issue. Characters were extremely exaggerated. Like Lian being written either like a complete ditz or a downright bully. Or your early main quest giver, Ymir. I guess the intention was to portrait him as sassy slave driver, instead he, too, comes off as having room temperature IQ. And for a game entirely focused on its characters, i really couldn't get into a single one.

@@MaverickHunterXZA Thank you. I don't speak Japanese to be able to say. I will say that from this video, the writing is in an American style, but maybe in a way that Americans cannot perceive (but I can, from a British perspective). I don't take any particular issue with that, and think a localisation in a Japanese cadence would sound stilted, so I have to be humble here and accept the American form. From what you say, I understand it to be an issue with the translation than the original script (?), so perhaps the narrative underneath is good if we look past the writing style. That said, I question how strong the narrative is if it tries to be character driven with 120 characters, while also doing little in constructing a believable society.

I swear by the fact that Kevin carried this game and partially carried the last part of SC. He is seriously one of the best character arcs I have ever experienced. It pains me to see how controversial the Third Chapter is among the fanbase. Good video man!

How much of the game is cutscenes/dialogue compared to actual gameplay I wonder from what I’ve seen in the demo it seems very slow paced. I’ve never played a trails game before

The Trails series is very story heavy so there is a lot of dialogue and cutscenes. There is still plenty of gameplay since the games are long, but the game takes it's time to set things up for big finales.

In English the name would be pronounced like I did in the video Ag-ness but because they accented the e that's the clue that it's pronounced Ah-nyess. I fully expect a lot of people to still pronounce it Ag-ness though after seeing people not adjust to the similar accented names in Fire Emblem Engage
