I do see your pipe to your external filer is being chocked by the pipe being nipped, it happen to mine and if the UV is on, the filter head get very warm to the point it's hot, like it's filtering a 35'C water from a 24-27'C water. you are wanting less tension on the piping to allow full-flow to/from the filter same goes with max-hight of 2 meters high from the external filter to have full-flow, so by seeing your pipes being chocked is to high tension, so you need to let the pipe go where it needs to go, or you us heat to make the pipe move for efficiently to where you need it. Just want to let you know. Also I use custom and replacement filters and makes a massive difference to my 200 liter aquarium, I do clean my Betta Choice 2000 UV every 10-15 days, but I do water change every 4 days and about 50% of the tank, also I do clean the filters only by clean water to remove all the swage, but keep the bio-media not touching clean water, due to having sand base aquarium, also use clear balls product into the tank, after cleaning the aquarium.
