Just subbed man. Great content!! I worked armed private security fir 5 months full time for a company so i have a bit of experience in this field. My question to you now is ive heard you don't need any certain certifications or license to work as a bodyguard here in the USA. A other video i just watched said all you really need is be over 18 and have a high school diploma ti work as a bodyguard. Of course it said you should attend some courses and trainings for your resume but no proper cert is required. Is this true? Im wanting to start my own bodyguard services with me as the only employee for now anyways. I have my ccw concealed permit do i need anything else legally??
@internationalsecuritytraining2 жыл бұрын
Every state is different. In some areas you do need a license, bond, etc. Some areas require executive protection agents / bodyguards to be registered as a security company. So be sure to study the laws in the areas you'll be working. ~ Brian

Self paced learning is very well respected in the security industry as you can see by FEMA As most security agents work alone and clients rely in your personal skills and training Every job application and/proposal asks you two major questions? Any skills? = certifications, training and on the job training Any references? = Networking and connections Brian teaches material for the right people in the right places I call it a connection boost lol Ty

When I lived in Las Vegas began my security career on the Las Vegas strip. I started with a private security company then went internal security for the Stratosphere Hotel, Casino and Resort. As Brian explains it can be a demanding job cause there was alot the security department had to deal with on a daily basis, however, I will say that I had a great experience working in the security department/gaming industry and I learned a lot.

@6delta6pmcprivatesecurity455 жыл бұрын
After my time in marines I did the bodyguard private sector but was asked by a casino I was in if I'd like a security job said ya and it's been amazing its union clubs open to 5am so it's never boring I'm a boxer so I get to spar a little lol but the brotherhood is really good patrons are amazing tips are insane and I still train at range next door for free I've taught them things I learned as a marine raider due to all mass shootings now I'm also nasm certified personal trainer so we hit gymbim older than all these kids and I can throw them around so they kinda look up to me so it's a great job.getting thrue all the fucking background checks sucked gaming license all kinds bullshit took about month and half for it was a go.but it's a great job and pump place full of oxygen so never tired and when clubs bumping it's never boring about 80 security, Bouncers, on at one time and we have had huge brawls but we've always got them out the door so patrons don't need to be scared while spending money.

Why won’t any clubs take women????? Yet the police department has women shorter than me 😑
@internationalsecuritytraining5 жыл бұрын
If a club doesn't hire women for security... they're not using good business sense. I've worked with women in security, and the benefit of having BOTH genders on shift is huge. It takes additional staff training up front... showing them how and when to hand-off certain situations or disruptive clients from one person to another, but the long term benefit is immeasurable. I hope the clubs you're referring to change their approaches to hiring.

Hello Brian I just viewed a few of your videos and this one especially stood out for many reasons but one thing I wanted to say that you are doing extremely good work in the security field with the webinars. They are short and to the point but full of good information essential to anyone wanting to move into the professional security field. I am about to start college soon what direction would you personally recommend me going? And also do you possibly have a "onsite academy" for people wanting to learn more about the executive protection/security field I am wanting to learn more and am willing to even travel
@internationalsecuritytraining8 жыл бұрын
Thank you Andrew, I'm glad our videos are helpful. I teach for a number of schools when they have a need. The best onsite Academy, in my opinion, is Executive Security International (in Colorado). I don't train for them... but I do feel they are the best onsite school. +Andrew Hulsey

With regard to evening mixers, here's a bit of my experience: When I'm in a city away from home, I will ask a hotel concierge about a great place where that town's movers and shakers meet for after work cocktails. They are only too happy to provide this information. At said place, get a seat, order a drink and kick back with a friendly, clam demeanor. Usually getting rapport and striking up a conversation with the bar tender is a great way the break the ice with the place and it makes you look like a sociable person. Others will see this and talk to you. It wont be long before they ask what you do for a living. Once they hear: EP, or Corporate Security or bodyguard....I can guarantee you, almost every time they will ask for your business card. I cant count how many times this happens to me, and I have actually landed some nice work this way. Remember, you are in an upper end establsihment and not handing out your information to just anyone. Even if it doesn't land work right away, its a great way to build contacts

Great video. ASIS has pretty much set the standard in terms of industry accrediation. CPP / PSP are pretty much universally asked for in most job offers. Definately a plus to have either of these in your dossier. I'm in the ex-plice category, have a 4 year degree and the proper licences to operate, and still it comes down to networking - networking - networking. People have to know about you in orer to think about you when prospective work comes up. Sad in a way, but who you know will almost always trump what you know.

Some great points. Worked a night club for a few years and worked every position they had from from the side exit and front door to the main floor and a the uniformed armed officer. Worst scrap we ever had there was actually on one of our slowest nights on record. Around 2:30 am there was only 30 people in the club and last call had been made. Only three security personnel remained for the night, the manager, assistant manager, and myself working armed, the rest of the team consisting of mostly new guys who were only in their second week were sent home. Those of us who remained were exhausted. My manager had just finished a 3 day handgun course the night prior on the other side of the state. The assistant manager took the states 16 hour armed course that work day and I was running on 3 and a half hours of sleep from a protection detail the night before and having to fill a 10-7 at a hospital before coming in at 8. As soon as I closed and locked the front doors to keep people from entering again I stood by the manager talking to him about the class he just finished when I look up from checking the time on my cellphone to see one man tackle another to the ground starting a fight. 19 of the 30 patrons left in the club joined in with just 3 of us to stop it. Cutting the details of the next several minutes, by time police arrived we gained control of our bar again, but had to wait for ems to check us out. I was missing a chunk of my lower lip from a nice kick to the face, the manager had a baseball sized lump on his head from being hit several times with a bottle and all 3 of us were contaminated with O.C. that was sprayed by one of the girlfriends of a guy we took down and put in cuffs.

Not a problem. Too many people don't understand some of the things a job like that can involve. After 4 years and working every sort of post imaginable within my state I have finally hung my hat on the industry and currently focusing on finishing my education.

Good story and most people don't realise we are they're to make sure they have a good time and to diffuse stuff like this ASAP. I'm from England and work the doors on a regular basis, we are not allowed to handcuff people or carry weapons. I seriously think they should change the way things are done over here, maybe not the weapon side because there's a few hot heads about but the handcuffing is a must, at the minute we only have our physical ability and colleagues to rely on if subduing and detaining somebody which, as you know, gets even harder when outnumbered and having to deal with drunks who think we're only there to bash heads.

Excellent presentation for security managers and corporate security professionals. Many times we have been called to perform technical sweeps for offices where the client expects there to be some hidden high-tech device, yet their offices are riddled with the vulnerabilities that Brian describes here. If you want your facility to be protected against audio surveillance, this is a good place to start.
