If you mean the centre compartment (not the side panniers) then I don't think it would fit. it is about 280mm long but at the front it is only about 150mm deep (i.e. top to bottom). It would fit in the side panniers though, but you'd want to put it in a good case with some padding/support as the side panniers are just floppy bags really.

yes the magnets are quite powerful so the spanners hit it a bit hard, this is why I recessed them into the wood. But fabric would be nice over the top!

@@jamdiversified9698 I did it for a bunch of old wrenches that I might need on an occasional basis. Mostly because they're the larger ones that take up a lot of space in tool boxes and chests. By graduating them in similar sizes on the rake, I can just grab and go, knowing that one will likely fit. How often do you really find that you need that 1-1/8" box end when you're working on a lawnmower anyway? The length of the tines allows for more compact storage holding three or four wrenches each and it's up and out of the way, hanging from a rafter in the man cave. It's an idea I got from a friend of mine who did it in his garage/machine shop. Plus, it was a trashpile find that I was originally going to put a new handle on and use as another rake, so it just worked out better to be repurposed. I just found a good spot and used a heavy nail to hold the weight of the wrenches. The upward curvature of the tines keeps them happy and secure and free from the effects of gravity!

Since the device slides on rails, if there was a block at the open end of the rails? The problem here is that it only secures it to the rack, so a lock for the rack to frame is also needed.

@@atropineman3541 Hey there, appreciate your response. I actually forgot that I left this comment many moons ago. What I ended up doing was more or less what I described above. I found a lock that has a combination on it and is designed much like a zip tie. I guess if you Google "zip tie lock" you'll see what I'm talking about. That served the purpose of weaving through the loops of the bag, then through/around the bars of the rack, and then coming back together and securing itself end to end. 8 months later, I've still got all my stuff. 🥳 I'm pleased with the results.

@@nileshvagal yeah that’s max psi the tyre can take, doesn’t mean you need to have it at that pressure. You generally get better grip for mountain biking use around 25-35psi, depends on your preference and specific use but that’s about right.

It is for attaching to a holder that came with the lock. I've since removed this plastic hook part as it gets in the way for my usage.
