From all I have seen, either healer or tank in this game are just DPS with few optional healing and tanking dedicated skills... A shame everything is dumbed down to be a brain dead damage dealer.

Again, you do have to use a VPN. During install and setup, you want to ensure that the client sees you as being in south korea.

I don't think you find the class-specific ones for classes other than the one you are playing. There seem to be some that are shared, however!

If its a strong base, try tempering. If you are able to get your temper rolls, enchant it until you get what you want there, and if that all works out, master. If you have a very specific roll path you need, you could masterwork before enchanting, but masterworking will generally be more expensive.

You've got to use one of the temper recipes you get for the first one to appear. So when you get the scroll/recipe, just click it and you learn it. That will unlock the tempering. and the materworking unlocks in the Pit I believe.

Why does some of my gear have a highlighted affix with higher rolls like a star? I have some gear with 1-3 highlighted. Does it just mean more GG potential?

Those are "greater affixes!" Its a 1.5x multiplier on the best roll for that affix. Keep an eye out for those

Once you have fully tempered an item it will be masterworkable. You have to complete the pit to unlock masterworking.

Great video, thanks for the summary on tempering and masterworking. I'm studying up on S4 ahead of the start next week and your summary answered all the questions I had, so thanks very much! Just so I'm clear on masterworking: - There are 3 types of materials you can get from the pit, with the rarer being awarded for doing higher clears. - Each of your items can be upgraded 4 times per material for a total of 12 upgrades. - Upgrades 1-3, 5-7 and 9-11 increase all stats on the item by 5%. - Upgrades 4, 8 and 12 increase a random stat by 25%. - If upgrades 4, 8 and 12 land on a stat you don't want, you have the option to reset the item and start masterworking again (no refund given for the materials already invested). I can see from the most recent patch notes that you can no longer fail masterworking, which is a great change. All characters have a minimum of 10 item slots, so that's 120 upgrades (capping out at 140 for barbs). That's more than enough of a grind. There's no need to artificially extend it by having a chance to fail masterworking, especially as you may have to reset an item. Keep the content coming!

They shouldn't allow reset for master worked items. It basically just means as long as you have the time you will always get the perfect rolls since you can just go get more materials over and over. Takes away from finding that perfect piece and it rolling correctly. Which at it's fundamental base is the whole point of this type of game. Mistake IMO but better than the previously used system.

Tempering isn't reset-able, fwiw. So, if you are going for a perfect roll, you still will need to get perfect rolls on the first crafting step.

Goes both ways. If you cant reset, then just keep playing until you get the item and try again, and spend the same thing you would with reset. But losing the item is a collosal waste of time, reseting it is better.

it's an extremely dull game with big performance issue, input lag, sold at such an early stage that it's hard to consider it even an alpha release, for a price point that would be too high even for the full product most likely. If only people would stop considering any indie crap as gold and would start judging games for what they are... I mean, if any tripleA developer would have released a game in this state, everyone would be tearing them a new one by now.

I bought it right at the beginning and was left in early access for so long that the moment it came out it felt already old. Some games have a good early access model, some others are abusing early access in my opinion. Last Epoch and No rest for the wicked definitely fall in the latter in my opinion.

I've experienced getting stuck clipping into objects during the tutorial phase so often that I actually had to restart twice before being finally able to get out of it, and I've see reviews mentioning this issue often enough to suspect it's not uncommon. A few frame dips here and there? 4070 super with a ryzen 7 78003dx, 32 gb ddr5 ram, SSD, the game does not go above 60 fps, with frequent deeps below the 30 and a constant gpu usage of 99%? It can be a good game eventually, but we are at the very least one year away from that, and to go out and sell it at 40 Euro in its current state is criminal.

@@raykael I am! Its wild that we've had such different experiences. I've had a single crash in 14 hours and almost got stuck once. Thats about it. Some minor bugs with item stacking, but nothing game breaking. It seems about where I'd expect a $30 (us) EA game to be. 3080, 12700K, 64gb, SSD. Game was running at 70fps, but dipping to around 40 transitioning in and out of sacrament. I turned it down to "balanced" from performance and its helped with those dips a bit. I've seen others complaining that they are having worse experiences as well, with some saying they are about where I am. I agree that there needs to be some work done as there should be more viable options for people that aren't on high-end hardware! I'm willing to cut independent studios a bit more slack when they release in an early access state. If this were the full release, I'd be a bit more critical, but I've no problem with this at a discounted early access title.

i dont really see that this changes arpgs because its not meant to be played indefinitely like a classic arpg is with the seasons and all. and it all starts with the fact that there is no procedurally generated content (as in dungeons), its a story driven single player game basically with a beginning and an end. thats not what people who are into the classic arpg genre are looking for. They appreciate it, for sure, but it wont change the genre.

@@MyManMeli i tried it yesterday for 1,5h and except the camera its absolutely nothing like a classic arpg, its a completely new genre and imho caters way way more to the souls audience than to the Diablo or poe audience. I at least bounced off of it pretty much after the first sections. It is gorgeous looking and feeling though. Its just not my type of game.

Beyond the perspective, I feel the itemization is what really gives it an arpg feel for me. And it's odd, its kind of this ... Survival/souls hybrid. If anything it reminds me of v-rising

@@si1entstill for me its all about the combat. Classic arpgs are not as weighty feeling and you dont have to be on point with your attacks, at least not really, plus i always play them with mouse. The slower and more methodical combat here plus the fact its WASD, makes it a completely completely different experience. Been playing arpgs since 1997 and this here is for me a souls game with isometric view. And thats fine, but i struggle to see where it would be a middleground between a Diablo and a souls game. Its 90% tilted towards souls, for me.

Just found your channel. Amazing content. Love the atmosphere in your room. Did I see a deck of mtg cards laying on your desk in one of your videos? Question, I’ve stopped playing D4 after reaching level 100 with one character early after the launch of the game. My chests are filled with gear. Can I destroy everything at the black smith and will the affixes automatically be added at the tempering station? Want to start playing again after the new update. Good eye! I've got a bit of a shuffling habit, haha. They are actually from a lesser known tcg called "flesh and blood" (it's excellent, check it out) Re: salvaging - I believe they will be add-able to the codex. It's not completely clear to me what will happen with all "legacy" gear, as the whole affix system is being overhauled. I remember that there was mention of that old existing gear being flagged in some member, but we weren't able to test this on PTR as it was all new!

Devs lost me at 'nothing in this world is procedural'. Look no further than D4 for how boring the 'world' is. Not to mention, you can freely spec into other 'classes' - no need/incentive to re-roll a character. Yea, it's a pass for me, unfortunately. I had more hopes for this one.

I’m so incredibly stoked for S.4. After experiencing the changes to Necro and more specifically summoner/minions I can safely say(unless it gets a heavy nerf) that I will no doubt be running necro for the majority of S.4. Then all the QoL changes along with the crafting system makes for a very enjoyable time. Will finally be able to take a break from Last Epoch! GLHF all!

Always love to see main hubs evolving and didn't know about the housing... but that's very nice to hear about! Hopefully I won't get stuck finding the perfect angle for every little item... ^^' Keeping a close eye on this one. Mixed feeling about the early access. On one side because I wish it was the full release (DUH!), on the other because maybe we just had a lot of those in the past few months. But definitely not a deal breaker, I just wish the best to the game, its dev and that we can all have a great time with it... regardless of when that time may be!!

Yeah! It doesn't look like there is a grid system at all, so it'll be lots of little tiny adjustments haha. Yeah, EA always feels like a mixed bag. I'm willing to give these smaller shops more leeway, especially when it's a discounted early access. But, I think waiting for a full release is absolutely reasonable.
