The best part of this chair can't be noticed by sitting in it. Ever be a cashier or any job where you stand for 8+ hrs in the same place with barely a break? You never knew how miraculously huge a proper anti-fatigue mat makes on your legs until you use one/have yours taken away. This is that feeling in a chair. I will say straight up there are chairs that feel more comfortable (initially) than this chair but I've never found a chair that has more of that anti-fatigue feeling than this chair. You can sit in this chair for 10 hrs and your body will feel the same as it did when you first sat down. That's where this chair excels and is unparalleled imo, unfortunately reviews don't discuss that it's not something you could ever notice right away. I had this chair at an office years ago and the only downside is a whole day can go by and you and won't get that physical fatigue/urge to get up and walk around (and you should for health reasons). If your mind doesn't remind you to get up, you won't 'feel it.' I know that sounds like it doesn't make sense. Logically you would think a more comfortable chair you could sit in longer. I don't know what in this chair or how it's made. I'mma just call it sorcery at this point. I once read The NY Times uses this chair and I was unshocked to read that. I think that's who this chair is best suited for: someone who needs to sit for hours and hours and hours on end without any bodily fatigue. If you want to feel like you're in a cloud, be able to do a 'trunk rotation stretch' whilst sitting (lol @ an HM chair), be hugged, or any other bells and whistles this isn't it. This, this is for the sitting warrior. PS I'm just a few inches over 5' you saying it's for all heights and sizes = facts. How easily it tilts back on its own of course size/weight dependent for me it was the right amount/ I had to use some leg force. I never use arm rests (on any chair with wheels!) to stand up bc I think thats waiting for an accident... so that issue you had with the armrest: that didn't exist for me.

I only had the Fern for a trial period of 30 days. However, the cushion was thicker than the Leap V2. It was smaller though and since I have a large butt, I could feel the gap on the Fern between the cushion and seat back. I have many hours on end in this Leap v2 and I never have pain, tingling or numbness. It is really comfortable. I like the size of the leap seat cushion, but the thickness of the Fern seat cushion.

I actually think the pan being so far back is intentional and probably even necessary for a mesh chair. If it was a little bit more forward you'd likely be sitting directly on the frame. They could have probably made the pan a little bit longer though on the back side and then allow it to slide, so you never sit on the frame, but you can get the length you want, or if you're short you could get more mesh under your butt. I am infact currently sitting in a chair that has the pan frame far forward and it is uncomfortable as hell and hurting my ass, Karman seems to fit my needs perfectly from what you've displayed though, so thank you for the reviews.

As someone who has sat in many a chair, and this particular one for almost a year now, I would have to disagree. I have no extra padding and I do not experience "numbing" at all. I have marathon game sessions, 10,12,14 hours some days. I get up every hour or so like a human should. Hell, I don't even use the lumbar support! I do use a footrest from a third party. I was on a work sabbatical for the las t couple weeks and I was in this chair 8-10 hours daily for those 2 weeks straight. I am also 6'1 and back up to 260 pounds, so I feel a qualified judge on such matters. Overall though, this chair has been awesome. I bought mine, it's an over priced honest unpaid testimonial. What about the plastic base, does it change anything ?
@lukebrutal78
@lukebrutal78 5 ай бұрын
So the base being plastic or metal isn't a big deal, other than the weight of the chair to move around. I prefer a metal base to slow down a chair on hard floors. It also provides a heft that makes it feel substantial and adds perceived value. Budget wise, plastic base is not a noticeable difference in use or performance that I could tell having though only experiencing the one I got... I hope this adds some insight and moderate mystery to the "right" answer. Thanks for reaching out!

I'm not sure about dropping almost $1,000 for the Titan EVO 2022 and associated accessories. I don't want to be a fool. If I'm spending close to $1,000, why wouldn't you purchase a Herman Miller at that point? I browsed countless reviews of "gaming chairs." It doesn't seem right at all. It doesn't seem like it's possible to create a proper chair in this price range. Are gaming chairs legitimate? When proper chair manufacturers try to compete with the gaming chair industry, they have to strip a lot of durable and quality components, features, etc. It still doesn't seem right. It seems like it's a business for fools. They provide free chairs to advertisers. Advertisers are accustomed to sitting in these seats, so they don't know any better or have a strong financial incentive to provide a positive review. When the general public that varies in all shapes and sizes tries the chair, they all have varied responses from extreme to pure content. Some work in offices and have experience, so they know proper chairs and would opt for office chairs. When you just want a proper chair and aren't sure whether these gaming chairs are legitimate, then it leaves you with more questions than answers. They cater to people without a large budget, so it's obvious that they don't incorporate all of the costly features and components that would make these proper chairs for any type of use. I've read that these Titan EVO 2022 models don't do well without a lumbar pillow. Also, these gaming chair companies at the upper echelons of the industry provide a bundled price point that nearly matches a good office chair. Why would anyone not buy a proper chair from Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth, etc.?

I bought this chair (waited a month for it). I've had it for like a week now, and I don't feel any of the issues you're expressing on this video. The arms won't make any noise or significan't movement, not unless you're deliberately shaking them as you are in this video. Also when you got up and the arm rest came down, that was probably due to the fact that you didn't properly lock it when you last moved it because the arm rest works with a locking mechanism. You push a button to move it, you move it, and then you release the button but as with any locking mechanism (ie. moving car seats forward and back) you should always give it a final push to ensure it's locked in place. Regarding feeling like you're sinking into the rear of the chair when the seat is pushed all the way to the front, I don't suffer from this problem at least for my size, I don't see any need to push the seat all the way forward but I imagine that you must have longer legs than I do (I'm 5'7") so I won't comment on that. The one gripe I have with this chair is that you cannot lock the reclining. Instead you can only lock how far back the chair reclines. That is the only gripe I have with this chair. And the arm rests could be softer, like more rubberized too. Other than that, the build quality seems pretty good to me. You mention Herman Miller chairs at the end of the video. I've sit in Herman Miller chairs which were 10 times more uncomfortable this this one. That overhyped mesh one, for instance. That thing will chew your ass up in just a few minutes. By comparison this one is much better. As for the Steelcase leap though. I haven't tried that one but at least where I live, it's almost double the price. Is it double as good as this one though?
@lukebrutal78

The fact that you waited a month for the chair means you did not get a ready to ship model. I believe that is the root cause of the poor build. 99.99% of all modern chairs are GARBAGE... i dont know why designs them or who they are designed for, but they all have FORM (Visual Design) being the main aspect and the actual FUNCTION being an afterthought... i honestly dont give a shit how a chair looks like if it performs flawlessly... its like the same thing about a mattress... do you really care what the mattress looks like ??? NO... you care that the mattress is right for you. And with chairs its actually not that difficult to have a chair designed to fit people based on their body type give the set of correct params like: - height - weight - waistline The problem is that the CHAIR industry today does NOT have the goal of providing a FUNCTIONAL AND QUALITY product that maximizes utility and comfort... what they do is design a chair that is made of the CHEAPEST possible materials and is easily mass manufactured....thats it... what they do then is make it look elaborate and comes up with all sorts of gimmicks and bullshit. Honestly thinking of getting some engineers together and create a new company that is simply going to make amazing chairs for people who sit on their ass all day long doing work...

Preach Brother Preach! We are in a world of profit and greed. These chairs are amazingly low quality for the prices they charge. My wife said I should design a chair and market it. I joked and said yeah, "I wouldn't make any money though because I want to make a quality product at reasonable price" That isn't the way it works though. I would be getting the same crap out of China that every other company uses for parts. It's sad really.

Looking at picking up the Leap during the 11.11 sales this week - Going to test drive all Steelcase chairs on Wednesday ... Currently have the Secretlabs new chair but it's lumbar support is shocking to say the least

That is awesome, I wish I had access to a Steelcase showroom. I was able to got to a Herman Miller store last year about 2 hours north of my home. Try out the Karman, if you have the Neue chair, you may like it. No headrest though. I really like my Leap. What color are you going to get? You like it with headrest? Let me know what you think!

No issues at all. I play warzone on it all the time, it looks great on visual titles like lords of the fallen. Works great with ps5, and it’s a smart tv if you don’t already have one. Been a great monitor so far for productivity too. You will love it.

@@lukebrutal78 thank you so much. I can't wait to purchase this monitor. I also don't have a tv in my room so it will supplement that part as well good to know. As I saw in many reviews that they use micro HDMI and mini dp, could you recommend some good cables for each?

@@hellblazer7 For sure! I got a 6 foot HDMI to micro and a 10 foot DP to micro DP. I added 2 links for these cables in the description. I like silkland brand so far as I have 4 other 8k quality input cables. No kill like overkill! But worth it.

I just returned my fern i couldn't stand it. Its comfortable when you first sit in it but destroyed my lower back after a couple days. The seat also felt really short due to the waterfall cushion, and i'm only 5'9. Much prefer the gesture over the fern. I am gonna try the embody soon see how that goes.

Hey my friend I have the Haworth Fern, the only option I have is the lumber support and 4d arms, I think it’s one of those chairs that doesn’t need the options. It’s my favorite chair I’ve ever had. I should note that I bought second hand for low price from Facebook marketplace. Also I’ve owned the gesture and the leap and I prefer the Fern over those options. FYI I’m 5”11 260lbs

I was so close to living the Fern. It just wasn’t built well. Perhaps it was my pre build. I would like to try a different version of it, but I love my Leap, and my wife is sick of chairs and boxes all over our house. 😩

@@lukebrutal78 my Fern has been bulletproof, no issues, I think the tilt and locking mechanism adds more complexity causing more issues, mine’s missing those two features. I’m just speculating at the end of the day

What amazes me is why someone can't turn a car driving seat into an office chair? Volvo for example have great seats that you can sit in for 8 hours comfortably. Surely it can't be that difficult to add some legs and wheels?
@lukebrutal78
@lukebrutal78 10 ай бұрын
Car seats are generally heavy. They are made of steel and springs. I actually thought about it, I run an auto repair shop IRL, so it has crossed my mind. I have always wanted a racing sim set up to play Gran Turismo, I already have the wheel and pedals! I am not sure using a keyboard would be comfortable though, but it's an idea I have pondered myself, Great comment!

I must be the oddball. The Leap gets so much praise. I have watched hours of reviews and finally ordered one from Crandall. It doesn't have the head rest. But I hate this thing. The seat is too short and causes hamstring soreness. The backrest is too short and causes major neck pain/fatigue. Maybe the head rest would help with that. But I just don't like how the chair forces me somewhat forward with such a short seat base (at full extension). I am about 6'1 and 225 pounds. I use this chair at my gaming desk. But I like to lean and lounge in it too as it is my main chair for leisure. I watch TV and play PS5/computer games in this chair. And I just can not make myself like it. I am seriously considering the Fern/Embody because the seat base seems big enough to allow me to change positions. I would also grab an Atlas after market head rest. We shall see. Thanks for the review

I am about the same size. I don't have the hamstring issue or any numbness. I also use the Cushion Lab footrest. It makes me super comfortable. I spent 10 hours in it today, no issues. I did like the Fern's size but the quality ruined it for me. Did you check out my Fern review?

Mr Luke can i ask your height ? It may help visualize the fit. Did you not like the lumbar support you referenced you would probably get it without . Can you explain why you dont like it? If the lumbar support is all the way down to the bottom is it essentially like not having one at all? Thank you sir.

I am 6’1” or 1.85 meters. I also have a large frame which affects comfort. My Fern did not have the lumbar support and I liked it. The backrest was amazing. The recline was smooth. This chair would still be in my house if the armrests were not so flimsy, and if the seat pad didn’t knock on recline. I also prefer a headrest and the headrest on this chair seems weird. I even removed the lumbar from my Steelcase Leap. I felt it was needed for my comfort.
