I was hoping to see what was happening with the outrigger and the sandpiper. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Outrigger was purchased by a developer last year. What remained of the building has been demolished. I have not found any information about what the developer will do with the property. Sandpiper was also sold but I have not seen any information on what will become of it. If I find anything more about it, we can let you know in one of our episodes.

Thank you for the Sanibel video, it was nice to see Jerry’s etc. and Mudbugs. No offense intended but the fritters you had there are pronounced ‘CONK’! (sounds like HONK your car horn) And yes, they are good! 👍 😊

Hi Ken Brown here and we lived on Washington Ave. I spent hours riding my spyder bike around the mound house the summer of 65. My grandmother used to swim in the pool that is now the archeological dig exhibit. Breaks my heart to see the devastation Ian caused. Everything I knew is gone, I will sorely miss the Outrigger.

I am nit aware or any curfew on the beach or in the town itself. Be aware that sea turtle nesting season is in effect until October 31 so you may not use flashlights or any other bright light at this time.

My family vacation at a home for 40 years on Aberdeen Avenue saw pictures that it is completely gone. Also, I have not seen any updates on the sandpiper resort. Will they be rebuilding? I cannot find anything online thank you.

My apologies - I am just seeing this comment. I'm not sure why I didn't get a notification. Sandpiper was sold to a company called London Bay in December 2023. I wasn't able to find any information on whether they will be rebuilding. If I hear anymore, I will let you know.

LOVE your videos. FMB has been part of my life since I was a baby. I'm from Indiana too and we are making a trip down first of June. Would love to see the area around Mound House,we are renting a house near there. Wondering about beach access in that area?

@@IslandTime_Lovejoy I lived in Lima Ohio for 24 years. Now in Marysville. Vacationed in Ft Myers for quite a few years up until the hurricane. Stayed at the Outrigger Beach Resort. Looking to come back next year.
