Premium seems like a dying format to me. It feels like Bushiroad doesn't care about Premium other than to milk 4x stride deck set sales in English. History collection limited the meta to focus on the superior stride bosses which killed a big appeal of Premium - creativity and diversity. No new ban lists. Giving accel a crest was the final straw for me. Honestly, Standard has come a long way since release and I find myself enjoying it more at this point.

I would love to see a yearly premium collection that included a stride, a g-guard. And 3 cards that go into the main deck (could even be V legal). I think it’s not crazy to make promos for Premium similar to how they do it with Standard. Now I have a locals to attend and get these promos, so that’s what makes me say so, people without a locals would probably hate that. But it would speed up promos for every clan. Premium locals’s prize support is not that exciting because the promos are unexciting. Beyond that, I’m fine with any Premium support just being from Standard. I actually like that Premium changes more slowly than Standard. Standard is the format that’s always fresh and dynamic. Premium is the format that’s STABLE and changes slowly. This is why Premium has felt super balanced and healthy since History Collection and Standard has gone through waves. It’s harder to balance a format that gets support every month. If you’re finding Premium stale…. Try Standard? That format is basically never old because it gets supported all the time. I ALWAYS have multiple decks I’d be excited to take to locals.

@@BlackRoseMovement4 thanks for the compliment! I got mine from immediately when HC released as a single. Up to you if you want to buy boxes but remember pulling it isn't guaranteed. But if there's other stuff you'd be happy from HC regardless of what you pull then that's cool too.

So how does the sequencing for upgrader work? The only condition to meet is not riding on your grade 3 or higher during the turn correct? If that’s the case could you use the ability during battle phase and essentially restand your vanguard?

@@trollverse171 it's an ACT skill. You can only activate ACT skills during the main phase. You may be confusing it with AUTO skills.

Ah yes an oldie but fun video. Yeah the abuse of Starlight was pretty fun back then. It was a play that we had to keep chipping in damage when needed.

@@brycebledsoe3870 yeah for the Revenger PG, I would only recommend playing 1-2. You need combo pieces and your only search method is really Rinnal's top 3. Plus you can recycle them back with the G Guard.

What are your thoughts on running raging form reverse? What abt the V copy? From what I've tested, I was able to spam multiple of the V reride/OG consecutively (I think my record was 4-5 swings) instead of going into reverse, which makes me confused as to why they were running it

You do play them. Currently I'm playing 2 OG Raging Form, 2 Raging Form V, and 1 Raging Fall Reverse. Usually your turn 3 is using OG Raging to go into Raging Rapt. Then turn 4 you can do the G3 Raging Forms to keep swinging on rerides.

i just got into nightrose as my secondary deck, I really enjoy the megiddo/skull dragon formation, Its really slow but its so funny swinging for 60k+ 5 times, I dont usually play meta but this deck's design appeals to me a lot, thanks for the tips!

Hey Jaime it's me again ahah. After a premium deck, I was looking for a standard budget deck to upgrade as time goes by. Among the stride decksets that came out, Shiranui, Luard, Chronojet ecc, which one do you suggest me to buy and to play immediately, like outside of the box? Also, which among of these deckset is the cheapest to upgrade in order to complete it?

@@consulemanimedrawings2275 that also depends on what you like and prefer. I've only bought the Shiranui myself and it's not cheap to upgrade either. So that may not be the best option. You can technically play what's inside the deckset but you'll miss out on G2 cyclers and the new G2 that came out in festival booster. Plus you can't use the DE OT anymore, either Cray Elemental or Purple OT. Nightrose and Harri will release in late January for English. You could save up and look towards the future Decksets. I have no clue if building Chronojet, Messiah, or Luard is budget either. Personally, the Decksets are solid decks and usually can perform well at time of release with only what's in the deckset. But overtime you'll need to upgrade to keep up with eventual power creep.

Jaime, I was interested in both Revenger and Musk premium deckset. I know that Musk are a top 3 deck rn in premium but they were so if I had 2/3 Katrinas and the Cray elemen Cycloned and unfortunately I can't afford other copies of Katrina except the one inside the deckset, in fact I'm a budget player (max 100€ to be precise) and I need to choose between one of the two decks to start playing in premium. You said that this Revenger deckset will be meta changing but also Musketeer is really good, even though I can only afford 1 Katrina and I can't afford the 4 V "Maiden of sweet berry" : which among the two deckset would you suggest me to buy and to upgrade with a 100€ budget? Consider that the decksets already cost me 56/65 €. Thanks!

@@consulemanimedrawings2275 that's more up to you on what you're looking to get from the experience. For example, if you want to compete and have the best chance to make Top Cut, I would lean on a COMPLETE Katrina deck. Which is most likely not under your 100€. Or if you want to have a more "COMPLETED" deck without spending too much and that's your main goal, then I would lean on Revenger. You can spend a bit more to finish any last remaining cards like a 4th Mana, a 2nd Chainrancor, etc. Should be within your 100€ range. You can still try to make Top Cut in a regional, but it'll be an uphill battle with an "incomplete" Katrina deck. So I would encourage you to reflect on what you want most currently in this season of your life. Perhaps in the future you'll be in a better position to upgrade your deck or pick up another. You can also see if you even plan to attend a regional soon and have a strong desire to make Top Cut. Once you know what you want most, then I'm sure you'll know which choice to pick. Hope it helps!

In fact, since I'm in italy and Vanguard Italy is technically dead, my only purpose is to play it with my friends and also to kinda "collect" them: idk I just wanna have a vanguard deck in my hands, like to have one "completed". My main purpose at first was to have one vanguard deck for the reason I just gave you, just to have a complete deck, then I discovered some of my friends play vanguard too and so I though of Neo Nectar so I could win against them ahaha. I think I'll go with revengers and then I'll take musketeers and upgrade them slowly

Sometimes we just need to step back and be realistic in how we can really benefit from the decks we choose from. Both decks are fun. So you'll definitely appreciate their experiences.

I have a question for a premium build if you dont mind, Do you have any tips on how to build mordered phantom, because my friend wants to build it as best as he can, we have trouble finding premium builds to start off of as reference.

@@BlackRoseMovement4 good question. My best advice is to take a V Premium version of the build and add Premium cards to it. Like the stride Crits, Cafar Crits, Revenger or G3 heals, etc. Basically the deck can rely on Chainrancor to copy Mordred and do the same thing as it does in V Premium. Then try to experiment with other cards that can be used from the existing card pool. Cerggaon from Standard could probably also be something to explore as well. Hope that helps!

Yes you can. If you prefer a floater, that works. Thunder Dragon is usually preferred because you can instantly benefit from it while saving your normal summon for something. Plus Graceful Charity synergy.

@@hxrxbi_exe7597 it's more of a Turn 4+ card combo. So I feel 1-2 PB Abyss and 1-2 legion mate should suffice. Years ago, I believe I had 2 and 2. Just in case they get damaged.

@@voltegure3737 technically yes but Odysseus is banned currently. So you can't do this combo in a modern regional or locals event. This was 2 years ago when Genovious retrained was released.

Jaime, I need your help because I'm a budget player and I can't afford more than 100€ cards. The deckset already costs 66 € and there are many cards that I saw in the vid I need to buy, and some of them like Katrina, Susanna and Cycloned cost a lot for me and I don't which cards among the ones you listed I have to buy with the budget I have in order to upgrade the Premium Deckset at the best I can. Could you please be so gentle to suggest me which cards I should buy? Thanks!

@@consulemanimedrawings2275 hi there! So you can play the deckset as is if you're on a budget. Your main strides will be Cecilia, Ladislava, and Katrina. If you can invest into a 2nd Katrina that'll help more. Your only counter charger will be Ruth. So max copies it. You may want to look into 1-2 copies of Sweetberry G Era. She helps call a Reverse Cecilia from deck during the Main Phase to have it ready. You can use this card on a turn that isn't Katrina. Hope it helps!

I skipped G format back then because I felt it was too unbalanced for what it was. There was so much bricking, support was skewed, and for me it just wasn’t it. Rewatching it though and seeing what I did miss is definitely interesting though

@@frogthejamygo6379 it was definitely a different time compared to today. It has its issues but also pros. The modified banlist has helped to make more tier 2 decks keep up for fun. The next one I plan to try with a more top deck ha.

Great Nature, Granblue, Chaos, Aqua Force, Granblue. I switched to Nightrose for this event because I expected to face 1-2 Katrina players. There were some but ended not facing any.

@@QiliangChoo I know right! There were players but I just missed them. In Swiss I was technically 2 wins and 2 draws. At the end of the video, I explained there were other players and myself that got draws. I essentially won all my Games 1s in Swiss. The 2 draws happened because Game 2 went into time and I lost those. Causing the draw situation. In top 8, I lost to the mirror and they won the whole event. Moving forward, best 2-out-of-3 isn't feasible anymore. I'm at least grateful to experience it myself and know it first hand. Hope that helps!

@@CommanderJaime I do agree on best of 3 is not okay for p anymore due to how p games are quite long in general. Even a fast deck like Nova takes like 20min.About the draws how did they choose who go to top8? By opp win rate?

can you play neo nectar with only one katrina and still win with other strides? I'm a budget player so I can't afford some of the main deck and G zone cards ... Could you pls make a budget version of this deck using the deckset while making it still competitive?

It's possible but just know it may be an uphill battle knowing you only have 1 Katrina. You can go to a similar build from before Katrina was unbanned. You can use Ladislava more and need to use main deck cards to help set up the Reverse Cecilia from deck. Here's my older deck profile the shows it off: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hriBmLWepsran30.htmlsi=nbHi_g_QlwmBaSKS Key cards are the Sweetberry G Era and now you can even use Forbidoll. Katrina does 2 things compared to Ladislava: 2 more attacks (2 initial token columns) It searches up to 5 cards you need (during the battle phase too) You can start there and see how you like it.

Bo3 doesn't really work in Standard either from experience. A nearby locals religiously sticks to Bo3, and I always have to prep the entire day to do it because it just takes WAY too long. I just don't like Bo3 in Vanguard.

@@jacobjensen7704 yeah Vanguard has Ride Progression that really "longates" games compared to Yu-Gi-Oh. Personally I don't mind best of one. I rather have shorter events due to it. Especially if you plan to make it to the top cut and play that out after deck check.
