I am looking for roman shades hung higher than my window, this was a great explanation. Any online companies that you would recommend for shades/drapes?

I like the look but it does look a bit too busy esp the black shelf next to sofa. I'm also not digging the tree stumps. Perhaps they could be used as end tables alongside 2-seater sofa?

Hi there, thank you for the great videos. I have a question for you. Window is 110 inch wide and one side butts up against the wall. I gather from your videos we have to stack On the opposite side, which has a tremendous amount more of wall space. So my question is, do I stack everything on the wall space side? Or do I split it? I ask because I'm a little confused by this video. With my window Completely up against the wall on one side and the other side has tons of space. Where do I put the stack?

@@erinnvalencich4732 Thank you so much. Just wondering would it look odd with the pole sticking out much further on the one side in order to hold the stack? Would I be able to send you a photograph. I don’t mind having it either way to be honest I do love light but I think I’ll get used to it being stacked on one side. May I show you?

Thankyou, this was useful and I enjoy the absolute honesty. I'm trying to make curtains for someone's business and want to do a good job. The curtains in your house look really elegant so I trust all of the advice on here. I love the idea of having a lot of room to put curtains on either side of the window.

"Looks terrible" to YOU. Again, keeping your personal opinions to yourself would be really beneficial. You're speaking to a wide range of people. Not ONLY snobs like yourself.

Useful, but your personal likes and dislikes can be a little off putting, depending on who you're talking to. You're speaking to a big audience, whom I assume have different opinions than yours-it'd be beneficial to keep your (insulting) remarks on the different options to yourself.

A word of warning: the family cat will trash your beautiful grass cloth in no time, considering it a great clawing wall. You might hang it above wainscoting to get it out of reach.

Moving into an older house, I came to realize how drafty the very walls were (not just the old windows, which I replaced). Hanging vinyl wall covering on virtually all the 'exterior walls' (inside, of course) immediately made those rooms much more comfortable. Twenty years later, still pleased with the looks and results.

Thank you Erinn. I found all I was looking for before clicking on your channel. I was shopping for chandelier and my 22 years kept telling me that the Crystal chandelier is old and dated I should not buy. So I got in your channel and was like oh my God she is right. Thank you for sharing.

My window measures 34 X 58. What size should I get to make sure it’s not too small and not dangling to the floor?

Love your California interpretation of modern decor. I loved Southern California modern in about the 60s. The woods used were so exciting and all of the balancing and careful way it was done and works so well. How would you deal with a sort of Japanese influence/leaning interior with 100% golden knotty pine inside? I want warmth and light and nature inside. It is too dark and gloomy without tearing out walls or removing a veranda porch roof. Possibly paint the wood to match white drywall (actually was thinking of doing something like that). I meant it as a real question tho it sounds tongue-in-cheek. 🙂. More mirrors probably. The huge ceiling beams are dark brown. It is too depressing and dark inside. Maybe indirect lighting? Your California vibe is what I love. I was getting upset at the continual “cold” modern and the new “Japandinavian” Scandinavian plus Japanese hybrid attempts in what i have seen. What is a good pallet for instead of “gray/black/white/brown with a house all in golden knotty pine? Orange seems to pop and is enjoyable in flower arrangements. I noticed a flowery leafy tablecloth seems to bring in nature’s foliage, which makes the house so much more cheerful inside. Can i paint window frames a pale green to bring nature’s green into the house? Anything? The veranda roof is all natural dark stain wood. However, it appears in every view out windows. Could i paint it pale green? To cheer and bring nature in light or - I think you are waay past my guessing at what would work. Should I try pale green stain on windowed walls?Would tailored valances with automatic blinds in that pleated venetian soft opaque cloth work? White? Green? Two small skylights are partly effective, but the tall Pines shadow the roof quite a bit of the day. Cut down trees?

Surprising that drywall is not desirable for the best modern wall treatment. Thank you.
