Thank you Kevin! London here abd i have been lookingbat r100 r50 and r10. Many moons ago i used Nikon for work and was developing ilford fp4 on the hoof lol. Then went into other work. I am almost retired now ... I think the r50 would be perfect for me albeit not with a kit lens! I am siscounting the excellet r100 and the more expensive r10. This r50 will do what i need! How times have changed. Thanks again for the informative review

I love Canon, but highly advise AGAINST the R100. It's not a good camera and will frustrate someone who has experience with photography. I would narrow your choice to the R50 and R10. R10 will have one extra dial and a little better video specs. There's a small part of me that might have opted for the R10 over the R50, but I also own an R5, so that pushed me away from the R10.

Is the no IBIS problem? Or i give it too much emphasis?
@KevinDeal
@KevinDeal Күн бұрын
Depends on the situation. If you're shooting a fast lens with good light, it doesn't matter at all. Think about shooting portraits during the day. In poor light, you can still pair it with an image stabilized lens and it works fine. My personal opinion is that photographers freak out too much about IBIS. We have 100+ years of sharp pictures we've taken without IBIS. All of a sudden, it gets invented and photographers convince themselves they "need" it to create great work, when they've had that ability all along. It does help in some situations, but in general, an image stabilized lens can pick up a bunch of that slack, and often, you don't need IS or IBIS if you have good light.
@whyFINAL

@@KevinDeal That makes sense, I see a bigger problem in one SD card slot and micro HDMI(With my old camera, I miss connecting to a large external monitor) I shoot mainly at concerts (I believe that a stabilized lens would be able to handle low light) and then products, especially watches and lifestyle/travel photo with watches. So I'm wondering if to save a little more for the r6 mkii or sony a7 iv, or if I'll make do with something like the R8 or even R7, Sony a6700. My decision flies back and forth :-D Thank you for you quick reply.

Fuji is far from the best at autofocus. That's a fact. There are a lot of tests on the internet that prove it. And considering its cost as well as the cost of lenses that reveal 40mp, this combo makes no sense. A full frame can be bought for this money.

Depends on what you’re comparing it to. My full frame Canon RF lenses cost as much as an XH2 and two lenses. So I don’t agree that the costs are the same. Also, the lenses are considerably smaller for Fuji. If that doesn’t matter to you, that fine. But it matters to many.

Just bought the 28mm few days ago and I had exact same idea using it for my R50 because the size is perfect for the R50. I hate the kit 18-45mm that comes with it, the initial turning to start shooting mode makes me want to spit fire😂 every other lens I find is disproportionately large on the R50 including the 24mm which I used for it previously. The 28mm being so compact it turns the R50 setup into an everyday camera, most men could keep it in their pants pocket and women can put it in their tiny handbags. As a person who carries a tiny handbag on days I don’t intend on taking my full frame setup, I don’t even have to think twice about taking the R50+28mm with me, it will stay with me like my phone or wallet. I also have a R6mkii that I’ll be using it on, the 28mm is also good for when I need to get close and personal or in narrow settings where I don’t want to be noticed because I have a huge lens on my camera. The 35mm 1.8 would be perfect for my R6ii but I had to choose one lens for the time being for both cameras so I went with the 28mm. I hope this helps everyone else making a decision to buy or not.
