Also this film has legit commentary if you read into the love triangle. Stupid films like this always have some actual message to up the absurdity by being serious.

Other ones I'd love to see you watch are The Rutles - which is a British mockumentary that predates Spinal Tap but is tied to Saturday Night Live who financed it, and Slap Shoit - the funniest sports movie ever made.

Okay, I'm theorizing a lot here, but I really liked the movie and especially the concept of the movie, so it's quite interesting to theorize. First of all, the sad thing is, if you think about it, if even unrelated people like Radina's boyfriend, Ginny and Teddy die in this movie (the first one not being seen at all after the ghost has been summoned, so he didn't have any correspondence with the spirit whatsoever and is probably the "cleanest" character to die in the whole film), it is highly likely that Caroline's dad and Seylan die as well. For example, I don't see why Caroline's dad would survive if Radina's boyfriend doesn't, as the situation is the same for both characters (staying in a house in which that summoning happened, not appearing at all after the summoning, not having anything to do with the summoning, so why would one die while the other doesn't?). And as for Seylan, she already has been haunted in the moment she first left the meeting when her stuff fell down in the background, so we definitely know that the spirit interacts with her (to me it makes sense that the demon left her alone after she left the meeting to haunt the friends but probably intented to get back to her, and the spirit finally did get back when her phone connection broke off after asking the demon if he's a friend; she possibly died while the friends tried to abandon the summoning). Maybe after killing Seylan the spirit first took care about Caroline's dad before he finally killed Radina's boyfriend, after that we're finally back to the main characters with Radina and Caroline being killed. Also, I like those hanging feet always coming back in the movie, starting with the feet in Caroline's attic and the photo from Haley, later the noose outside of Teddy's house (not counting the feet of Radina's boyfriend visible for a small moment though as those feet didn't belong to the spirit). You can clearly see that those feet are based on Jemma's lie which summoned the spirit in the first place: A boy named Alex who hanged himself. The demon took the image of that non-existent person and used that image to get to our world. The hanging feet are the "mask" Seylan is talking about. And only now do I realize that the mask in Emma's room that turns around when Emma tries to touch it, is indeed just a filter and not a mask that you can actually see in real life; even Emma must have only seen it on her camera. It's just been the face mask filter which she kept using on herself throughout the movie, but as cameras can indicate the position of the demon (as evidenced by Haley's photo), it put the mask filter on the demon as well. By the way, it's interesting that the summoning of that demon only happened after Haley already felt something on her shoulder. That must mean the intended incantation of a real deceased person had worked, it just has been interrupted by the open invitation for the demon. I just wonder if the actual ghost left the place right after the demon invaded the summoning or if the ghost (maybe a relative of Haley's?) stayed there all the time (perhaps not being able to help). More so, possibly the real ghost was involuntarily released when the friends attempted to break the connection with the demon. This would lead to another interesting question: Note that only AFTER the disconnection attempt the first person died, so possibly the real ghost saved all those people from dying until they unfortunately released it. It would be an interesting concept that nobody in this movie had to die if they just didn't try to get rid of the demon as there already was a well-spirited ghost guarding them. However it might be possible that Jemma and Haley don't die at all, as the demon had been summoned in a Zoom call room and that room ceased to exist after one hour expired. This might result in the summoning being over. To me it makes kinda sense, the medium in which they summoned the ghost has not been a real place but a virtual place, so if that virtual place ceased from existence the summoning must be over. I would say it's quite logical that those two characters survived, only to eventually find out that everybody else died. If Jemma and Haley didn't survive, one would wonder what the spirit does afterwards? Wandering around those seven houses to wait for policemen and visitors to kill them (maybe he's bound to the real estates)? Leaving the houses murdering people completely unrelated to the summoning (he wouldn't care of course, think about Radina's boyfriend)? Cease to exist AFTER killing Haley and Jemma (but why suddenly)? I think all those things are relatively illogical, so I stay with my head-canon that Jemma and Haley survive. By the way, cheers to the actors, that was close to perfect acting, especially when considering that none of them were actual actors. Their reactions were relatively realistic (unlike most other horror movies) and especially Emma's acting was crazy, her crying and facial expressions while begging to Teddy were so real.

Fun facts about Gunnar Hansen who played leatherface: He wore 3 inch lifts in his shoes, increasing his height to 6ft 7", making him a giant. He went on an eating binge to increase his weight to over 300lbs. There's still a photo of him eating in between takes. He studied special needs children to help portray someone who is developmentally challenged. During the scene where Leatherface accidentally cuts his own leg with the chainsaw, the metal plate protecting Hansen's leg was burned - his scream was genuine.
