I've come across this video in 2024, apparently four years after you recorded and posted it. All very well said, and no doubt you've evolved and matured a lot. Consider making a follow-up video to share how successful you've become. Hey, I'm in my 60s and would be delighted if you were my grandson.

This is one of the GREAT videos on KZfaq. And so extremely generous to give us so much of yourself.❤ It is so important for other teens and preteens to watch. And, if you decide to, it is obvious that you will be an awesome father. In any future constellation of your life. Thanks for this great video and I really wish you a fantastic life ahead❤❤❤❤❤❤

Dude I am so so happy that I am gay even coming out after military service when being gay was still illegal and gay bashing was a sport then becoming a gay activist during the aids pandemic. Dropping the guilt from my religious upbringing was the first major step in becoming happy and setting myself free. You can't change your essential being trying to will only eat you alive and wreck your life. Other peoples negative opinions even those closest to you count for nothing because they don't have to live in your skin only you do for the whole of your life. Take a leaf out of Whitney's book learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all.

All Gay men must have their Gay men friends group and all the LGBT people must do the same 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️ It is important to be with people like us, to be around other Gay men and create Gay friendships inside our Gay community between us; in the same way that straight men and women have their women or men friends group. Gay men together forever ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Dear Austin, I am really happy for you and amazed of how much you have grown emotionally. Your parents should be very proud. I am 60 years old. I came out to my parents when I was 12 years old. My best friend and I kissed in for the first time at the Barn Theater in Merritt Island, Florida at the movies. We screamed together watching Jaws open and showing for the first time. Oh, how cute... look at those to little queers in the first row. We were oblivious to anyone else. The next day I came out to my parents. I too, had tolerant parents, and my father an Air Force pilot. 40 years later I am still in love and married to the first girl I ever kissed. I know, like really? Happily married, we have a total of 6 children (hers and mine) having survived our original spouses. Now at 60, I am still amazed at the loves and experiences that I have had. I am a retired officer from the US Navy, I served 23 years, and have seen combat serving 4 tours of duty in the middle east. I am also not one of those gay gay questioning people. I married my second girlfriend in 1986 and with her had 4 children. I am currently engaged and prepared to marry my first girlfriend from 1983. However, old and retired, I still remember my very first boy crush. It was wonderful. Live your life, Austin and care not for what the world may think of you. Be yourself.

El pobre, ni que fuera un asesino. No tienes que dar tantas excusas. Eres gay y basta. Igual que unos son rubios o morenos, altos o bajos, guapos o feos. No tienes que victimizarte ni dar excusas ni disculparte. Eres un muchacho del cual tus padres deben sentirse orgullosos.

Many young closeted people will benefit from your video. I'm glad you discovered that it was your feelings beating you down. There have been so many other LGBTQ youth who have taken their own lives due to numerous confusing reasons. I'm happy that you found your way out of the maze of conflicting messages that keep so many other youths down and locked in their dark and terrifying closets. ❤😊

I'm seeing this on Christmas day, by chance. His story and especially the last few minutes are so touching. All of this wisdom coming from a young man of 18 years. I would be proud to have Austin as my son, and I hope all the dreams you were wishing for have come true since you made this video almost 4 years ago! Best wishes Austin!

Austin, The first impression that I have is, you have wisdom beyond your years being grateful is when the most important lessons you can learn in one of the lessons that religion should teach us, and sometimes religion gets hung up in other things compassion unconditional love supporting one another because we’re all human beings God created you just as you were to be no more no less and I can remember when I was in Dallas working as a youth Director for a church literally going to the altar cause I had keys to the church and kneeling at the altar, and praying to God that he would take my gay away he wasn’t gonna do it Jeff you’re asking the wrong question you were an amazing young man. It sounds like you have terrific parents who support you and love you unconditionally you very fortunate Austin you talk about being blessed one thing I don’t want you to forget just because you’re gay Doesn’t mean you have to give up your faith there are many many religions that have accepting LGBTQ affirming, churches, temples mosques. Your faith is sometimes the only thing that will sustain you one of the things that you said is that everything happens for a reason you were absolutely dead on, sometimes we don’t realize what’s happening but for me in my perspective looking back over the last 40 years, everything is happened to me his lead up to what I’m doing today and it’s giving me the skills to learn how to be a better me and bit better in the role that I serve so don’t give up in fact, my fiancé is deployed currently with the US Army congratulations on going into the Navy. It’s a very honorable thing to do serving your country and serving others. However, that is the courage that you’ve shown and I could see how difficult it was for you am so glad you posted this because someone my age trying to explain someone your age it is all gonna work out doesn’t mean the same as coming from you you’re gonna reach out and touch someone and save someone from committing suicide 200,000+ according to true colors Cyndi Lauper organization, they were with GPT youth 200,000 kids are kicked out of their homes when they come out of their families 200,000 you’re very fortunate to have such a wonderful family and I’m glad you have learned this lesson as it said you have wisdom beyond your years and you will always be in the know You have gifts and abilities you don’t even know about that will develop more time and you will be able to help others in conversations in one building. Relationships is less important thing you can do learning how to communicate with others. The thing struck me most is your authenticity, and the thing that you hated was people playing the victim role that tells me you have integrity you’re a good kid. Keep plugging away at it it gets better and one day you’ll find your soulmate and you’ll be engaged like me well done!!🏳️‍🌈🌈 One thing that I have learned in my few short 40 some years of life not everyone you meet are ready to hear that side of you and being gay is just one part of you it doesn’t define you it’s just a facet of your life. You don’t hear stray people saying hi I’m Joe I’m straight nice to meet you. Just remember you’re more than who you sleep with that doesn’t define who you are your personality does and you have a wonderful, personality, kind and generous, sweet and loving. Don’t ever stop being you Austin cause you bring gifts to the world you’re gonna do great things and you’re gonna help a lot of people along the way

Hello Austin, I have seen a lot of coming out videos and have been very impressed with all of them. However yours is in another league. I cannot have been very easy to make this video but I am so glad that you posted it. If I had been 50 years younger it would have helped me so much. You described so well the anguish with which you were faced as you moved through the various phases of your self-realisation and coming out,. I am pleased that your text with your Dad had positive results and I am so pleased for you that your Mum, with whom you were so close, proved to be the tower of strength that you knew she would be. In a difficult situation you managed to express yourself although I know that it wasn't easy. I was moved and hugely impressed. I hope that now life is calm and happy with your family. I would love to know how you were getting on. My only criticism is that you are not very good at making your bed. Yours. Thanks. Jeffrey
