As a new nurse I once had a patient showing symptoms of an infection. First time calling the doctor, being prepared with the symptoms I had written down, I got the order and even repeated it back to him as being extra diligent. Went to transcribe it on chart and OH CRAP, I forgot to tell him the patient’s allergies. Just my luck I had to call him back and get another order. Lesson well learned 😂

Was threatened with a write up by a doc who had a patient with a potassium of 5. Doc had ordered 1/2NS WITH 40 of K. Held the medicated IV & gave plain IV. Was off for a day. 6 shifts & no one could contact doc. He was pissed & demanded I get written up. Informed him it was a 2 way street, that he should read nurses notes first. Also handed him medicated IV informing him he could hang it, but I’d personally check labs before doing so. Sitting next to him was a doc I’d interacted with for years. That doc leaned in & said; “you just made an enemy out of one of the nurses who’d have covered your ass”.

When I was in the hospital with Covid I was in pretty bad shape. The charge nurse would tell me she was increasing my paid meds and then get the official ok from the doc. My blood pressure was high and she ordered an ultrasound of my bladder which wasn’t emptying. She gave me a quick cath to empty it. I highly doubt she called him for orders first. My dad was an old fashioned family doctor and he treasured his experienced nurses.

I actually thought the cruelty coming from the nurses sometime they look at you with discust just because your sick. 😢 and God forbid your a elder or homeless they kick you to the curb.

I know you are really into flying for the US Air Force but I like your nursing videos better because you are working so hard in a hands on way toward the healing of others. The importance of Nursing can never be understated, in fact I label the nursing profession to be the single most necessary & in demand career currently available especially now. and you are one of the good one's!

I'm sorry nurses do not stay on their feet. Yall make the tech clean and wash the patients. Not saying nurses dont work hard but lets be real yall sit down most of the shift.

I didn't sit down most of the shift. A lot of the times, I am limping from my car to my front door after my shift.

I love Michael and I'm a huge fan; but I always wondered why he never sought to get actual therapy/counseling when he was at his lowest. It's not like he didn't have the money 💔
