What about in outer space when water floats around in little globules? Just kidding. I know it's CGI.
@evantohspace2 ай бұрын
In outer space it will be in globules due to surface tensions. :) of cos I have not seen it in real life.

If the parachutist uses a parachute with a smaller surface area, how will the graph look differently from this graph? Will it have a higher or lower terminal velocity?
@evantohspace3 ай бұрын
It will take a longer time to reach the terminal velocity. The terminal velocity will be higher too

This is wrong. First, the back wheels do not drag,, like legs. So, the analogy is bad. If the wheels are not slipping, then friction is forward for both back and front wheels. Based on what you are saying, the back wheels would create a clockwise torque that would actually speed the car up. If the back wheels are indeed spinning clockwise, the same at the front wheels, then the contact point between the wheel and the ground has zero velocity but that point of the wheel is trying to slide backwards, therefore friction is forwards. You might argue that your explanation explains the advantage of a four wheel drive car. Its doesn't, four wheel drive only offers advantage when wheels might be slipping.

looks like you're confused, "finds its own level" doesn't mean anything. gravity attracts water to the center of earth's mass, just like everything else. it's a fluid, so it takes the shape of its container. each particle is drawn toward the lowest position it can be. surface tension can affect the shape the surface assumes. if the container is sufficiently narrow, the surface can be concave up or concave down.
