@@x-streamasianturtlesanctuary I have Asian species.Besides the two Ryukyu pond I have Siebenrockiella crassicollis, Mauremys japonica, Mauremys sinensis and Mauremys reevesi.The Black Marshes are adults.All the Mauremys are a year or younger.The Mauremys Simensis you have are gorgeous!I have never seen them that large!

These three-line closed turtles require a highly aquatic environment. They are not semi-aquatic turtles in the true sense.

We just hatched 2 Cuora cyclornata. All of our Cuora are outside for the summer and most of the time they are hiding on land. Tell me more about your experience. 🤓

There is another kind of box turtle that is called the yellow headed box turtle. So a bit confusing. McCords works well because it is the American man’s name who discovered them.

Nothing fancy! I heat the room so don’t use many basking lights. And raise up most little turtles in bins until they can join adult groups outdoor for the summer and indoor winter to brumate. With recently moving, this season will be all about building some secure outdoor enclosures!!!

is it just my imagination or does captive breed and raised adult have a certain look to it, like when you look at a wild one or even the one that being raised outside on the ground, they look somewhat rough and rounded, and that made them feel like a more complete of an animal
