Thanks for the demonstration. I got as far as removing the screw but was hesitant to pull on the cover before watching your video. Got it apart and now I'm going to replace the battery.

Your fix was amazing. I cannot tell you how many trimmers I've tried. I probably spent upwards of $150.00 still not what I wanted then we saw your vidéo After I applied your fix I realize that I have two T765 Trimmers, two Charging units etc. ALL working fine. So I thank you very much.

Mine finally went out after 11 years. Once it was plugged in I never unplugged it and it worked great. I really like the adjustments settings. I was disappointed not see it available any longer. So thanks for Video I'm taking it apart now!!

The head from my Phillips QT 4020 broke and I'm trying to find a replacement....any ideas? Also will change the battery. Thank you for this video! This trimmer has lasted me years, it's great. Haven't seen anything similar and newer....so I want to just fix it and keep using it.

Thanks for the comment, but I've never changed a head. Sorry, I can't be of more help.

Can a Li-ION battery be used if it's the same specs, or does it have to be a NiCad?
@sujkarna4 жыл бұрын
I think you'll be fine with li-ion.

Getting those tabs near the adjustment collar was a key step. Thank you!

Well, I got the battery out, but it turns out the battery isn;t the problem. A new battery and the thing still doesn't turn on. Tested the old battery and it's still in good shape, but the trimmer just won't go on. I figure there's a chance someone sees this who can suggest another fix. Anyone else with a dead trimmer where the battery wasn't the culprit and figure something else out?

I have the Norelco T900 and the circuit board is much bigger, requiring more disassembly. In the end, the process is very similar.

Do I have to solder ?????? I don’t have one
@sujkarna4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I didn't see this earlier. I has to solder in to keep the wires connected to the battery. If you know another way, I bet it'll work and I'd love to know what you did!

I used a couple strips of aluminum foil tape (used in insulation work, extremely high-adhesion), and that worked fine. My NiCad battery was the same length as the the original battery that came with the trimmer, allowing me to use the plastic battery holder. The battery holder squeezes against the tape very nicely, holding the metal contact strips against the battery ends. Probably taping the wire contact strips to the battery using black (rubber) electricians' tape would work, too. You just need something to hold the metal contact strips firmly against the ends of the battery.

I used this as a guide to change the battery on my Norelco T860. I got it done, but the circuit board controlling the motor was MUCH larger than with this one. I had to pull everything out to get to the battery. And like here, I couldn't re-use the plastic housing for the battery. It works though!

No, no, no, battery can be fix even 3 to 5 mm long . In the case both side Plastic spring attached. It holds the battery.

It's easier if you just go ahead and take the height adjuster off. And, NEVER solder a battery!

for those wondering if they can use a NiMh AA battery to replace the existing battery (like I was) see this links "Can I use an older NiCd battery charger to charge NiMH batteries?" section www.greenbatteries.com/nimh-battery-charger-faq/

Awww, you shut it off during the hard part! The more I see that wreck the more amazed I am at how lucky they were that there was no car coming. They need a rolling enclosure on that part of the ride, and YOU, stay on the inside. Yikes.
