I recently started cosplaying but haven't fully told my mum yet. She knows i have the cosplay and i don't think shes too positive about me having a cosplay but shes allowing it (since i spent my money on it).

I made TWO petticoats using your short petticoat tutorial (ribbon and all!) last year I gave them the name "Tapa calzones 3000" (Panty-cover 3000) and absolutely loved them! Now I was looking for a tutorial on how to make a stronger and shorter petticoat to lift a high-low circle dress and make it more fluffy, and turns out you did that as well!! You're a live saver, thank you so much. 💖 Btw, I'd love to translate the tutorials I've used in Spanish while making vlogs on the cosplays I make. If I credited you both verbally in the video and linked your video in the description, would it be okay to recreate them in Spanish? 😊

Been watching for the past year but only had the guts to comment now. When you said “I wanted to fail without evidence,” it resonated with me. I am okay at sewing but horrendous at props and sculpted accents. As a novice cosplayer, I admire your craft so much, and hearing that even Kirilee gets embarrassed sometimes means more than I can say. Thank you for continuing to show your honest and open process, every vid, every time.

I love stretch fabric! Another tip I can give is use a walking foot. It feeds the fabric through evenly and prevents the fabric from sliding around.

Niffty is one of the characters I've always wanted to make. For me, she'll be half a closet cosplay, half DiY cosplay, and half commissioning a knife for her since I want it to look just like the angelic dagger she used in the show. The ready made part being a blouse with puff sleeves I already own, a chiffon scarf I made ages ago, and a pair of black and white sneakers. The only part I will be making is the skirt, which I'm debating on using a plain red or a red and black plaid for a 1950s school girl vibe, and a built in petticoat, built on a cotton yoke with some black organza. I'm debating whether or not to make a matching bow out of the skirt fabric to put into her hair or just make it black. What is your opinion on my cosplan? I need feedback, thanksies

The petticoat looks amazing! I want to make one in a similar style for a double circle skirt. Do you think a half circle skirt will be enough, or better to go with full circle?
@KirileeCosplay6 күн бұрын
It depends what you want the effect to be. This effect can work on a half circle skirt, but obviously you’ll have more volume (and weight though) with a full circle skirt
@jw49856 күн бұрын
@@KirileeCosplay thanks for the reply! I was worried that the half circle might not do much and drown under the weight of the double circle medium cotton skirt, and that the full circle one might make the entire skirt more heavy (I was planning on making a summer petticoat). Which one would be closest to the one you made in the video?

Probably a half

If i was to create a big poofy organza sleeve that folds the cuff in the bottom, what adjustments would i need to make to the sleeve block? I currently have it printed out in 2 a4 sheets im doing a melanie martinez cosplay btw and need to finish the dress today
@KirileeCosplay7 күн бұрын
You would need to adjust the length of the pattern or separate it into two parts and draft up the bottom hald

This was so helpful, thank you! I'm entering my first contest this winter and I sp want to go about it right. A question regarding references: if the character is from a book with a very clear description but few usable illustrations, what do you use as reference pictures? I'm mostly going on fan art, and everyone has their own idea what the character really looks like.
@KirileeCosplay8 күн бұрын
Honestly, I would be hesistant to enter it. You are making it harder for the judges to judge you which is never a good sign. You need to have one clear reference image that you can use as your reference point.
