Beautiful work Peter. I too am a fan of Manfred's little engine. I attempted a build in 1/12 scale: kzfaq.infoiht8SaXHN2M

You can use a 12v DC Gaugemaster Combi with these locos with no adaptation, as long as you don't go beyond about 15% on the controller; 10% is more than adequate in my experience. I've been using this very successfully on my layout.

Hi Peter, could you tell me if there are any step by step instructions online for adapting the gaugemaster controller, I've had a look but can't find anything?
@uncinarynin6 жыл бұрын
Why run with open doors, if it's air-conditioned, I wonder? Back in France/Belgium they used to have automatic door closing/blocking.
@trainman2ify6 жыл бұрын
typical Cuba; the a/c was freezing and passengers wanted windows. The a/c failed probably poor or no maintenance and opening windows were fitted. The remaining coaches are to be rebuilt with French finance and will be interesting to see if a/c reinstated

More video please! (*ideally with a fixed position camera, for less camera-shake-blur, there is so much detail to be seen). What happened to the MSGB steam locomotive, or did it get "body swapped"?

I like the premise of this, but what do you mean by speed control, out of the box they run fast like the old Eggerbahn stuff?
@trainman2ify7 жыл бұрын
mine don't; I use a derated Gaugemaster W controller. Input is 6v ac and this allows 0-3 volts from the controller at 70% setting
@paulsladen6 жыл бұрын
@Matt Gibbs, speed control is best done with PWM motor controllers: search for "1.8v motor controller" on Google, Ebay, or Amazon and the top result is a 32mm*32mm (1.25 in*1.25 in) green-coloured printed circuit board with a potentiometer and four green screw terminals (-/+ IN, -/+ OUT). Wire the outputs as per normal via a DPDT switch for direction control. In addition to Busch H0f motors, these modules also work well for LGB locomotives, giving good on-locomotive speed control from either batteries or scaling down higher-voltage track power. These can be fed with batteries (3V, 4.5V, 5V USB, …) and cost between $2‒$12 depending on the quantity and delivery time trade-offs. Look around, they can be found with/without fly leads, and built-in on-off switch. Marked with "SKU: 7445", but that doesn't actually help with finding them!

Hello Peter, Manfred Scheible ("MSGB" ) visited the Wiesloch Feldbahn- and Industrial Museum with this steam locomotive, a couple of months earlier in September 2016 for the 15th Anniversary of the museum. Even running with the 12v lights in the evening (after a replacement bulb had been found!) Your model is instantly recognisable and really captures the characteristics well. Do you have any tips for making a second copy?

it is all styrene from drawings I made myself from a photo of the loco. It fits the Busch chassis well. There is a similar loco in Sweden I may try next

That´s wrong. French railways has sold these coaches due to a lack of use and economic reasons maintaining them because only a relatively small number was built.
