The 350's, 360's, 380's, 444's and 450's have a funny sound when they arrive and depart, same with the 700's, 707's and 717's being on third rail power. Great trains overall.

The first clip was of the 'Railhead Treatment Train' thats used to put sandite on the tracks to try and prevent wheelslip in the autumn. Two locos on it due to the train shuttling along lines and reversing a lot

Great to see the works reopen. I visited it a few times in the late 80s when MC metals occupied a part of the yard. The works were a lot bigger then . Tesco took over a big part of the site. ZH.

The 2 car class 156478 was previously allocated to SR - ScotRail in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 until around perhaps 🤔 Monday 8th July 2024 or previously before that date 📅 📆 and now is reunited with NT - Northern. In the past, the 2 car class 156 trains 🚊 🚆 🚂 were previously with EMR - East Midlands Railway 🚃 and GA - Greater Anglia which had been replaced by brand new 🆕 trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 for GA - Greater Anglia and class 170s for EMR - East Midlands Railway 🚃 that have previously been with WMR - West Midlands Railway 🚃. At present 💝, class 156 trains 🚂 🚆 🚊 are with NT - Northern and SR - ScotRail. All of the 2 car class 156 trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 have bins 🗑️ 🚮 , automatic operating doors 🚪, open windows 🪟 , gangway throughout, no smoking 🚭 accommodation is because it’s prohibited 🚫 inside all buildings around the world 🗺️ 🌏 🌍 🌎, luggage 🧳 rack, standard class accommodation only, second generation DMU - Diesel ⛽️ Multiple Unit trains 🚂 🚆 🚊 , has a toilet 🚾 🚻 🚽 in the DMSL - Driving Motor Standard Lavatory 🚾 🚻 🚽 and are used for provincial services in the many parts of northern England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. The 2 car class 156 trains 🚂 🚆 🚊 are very good 👍 😌 😊 is because it’s nice 😊 👍 👌 and warm inside the trains 🚊 🚆 🚂 and perhaps 🤔 has central heating. Class 156 trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 are made between 1987 and 1989. The DMU - Diesel ⛽️ Multiple Unit trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 will be phased out by around perhaps 🤔 2040 and eventually replaced by EMU - Electric ⚡️ Multiple Unit trains 🚂 🚆 🚊. NT - Northern runs everyday and public holidays except Christmas 🎄🎅 🧑‍🎄 🤶 Day and Boxing 🥊 Day. SR - ScotRail is a different train 🚊 🚆 🚂 company that runs everyday including public holidays except Christmas 🤶 🧑‍🎄 🎅 🎄 Day and New 🆕 Year’s Day 🥳. 👍 😄 😀 😆

The works used to have direct access in from the Gartcosh line but this has been removed. So trains from the Gartcosh direction have to go almost all the way to Springburn before reversing onto the siding on the west side of the Springburn-Gartcosh line and using the headshunt to reverse into the yard. I was a wee bit baffled as to where the shot at 0.39 was! I didn't realise the direct connection towards Gartcosh had been removed (although I should have because you can see it on this recent video by Mick Lewis - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ocinpNB727ncpqc.html ). Thanks for a video of what will always remain (sadly) a rare scene.

No. This is Springburn works, the line in the background on the early shot of it in the undergrowth is the Springburn to Cumbetnauld and Springburn to High Street lines. There is a large Tesco and Costco on Springburn Road that is next to the works.

Built by SVI in Italy. Owned and operated by Alstom in Italy before being moved to Alstom UK where it was used exclusively in Scotland for the Edinburgh to Glasgow (EGIP), Shotts (H2MEP) and Stirling/Dunblane (SDA) electrification projects. Laid up in November 2018 at Polmadie as there was not enough work for it and now headed back to Italy. Too efficient for the UK!

Do you not feel it would be much better to utilise maximum daylight in say June? In Scotland it isn't possible to travel anywhere in the dark at mid-summer !!! (unless you want take a very late night central lowland commuter service, highly unlikely when you're not commuting). Even just in England, the difference between mid-winter and mid-summer is a staggering 6 hours more light per day.!!
@GJ37425
@GJ37425 Ай бұрын
Yeah, would've been a lot better in the summer. With the daylight and the heat haha. This was more a spur of the moment idea to do the All Line Rover the way holidays happened to fall.
