Really helpful as I learn his new add on. Pretty cool to play with. I do wish you could control depth of field better on large objects like a ship or tall building. Good tutorial!

well lets not underestimate the value of shortcuts here. some scenes, like this monkey scene, could totally have some fake frames generated with a height map inbetween real frames to save on rendering times. i mean, the 3d files are RIGHT THERE.

Hello, I have just started learning Blender and I am using Blender 4.1. I am trying to render from a point cloud, but no matter what format I use, I cannot see the color or material of the point cloud. Because of this, I couldn't even proceed to the rendering stage. When I first downloaded it, the point cloud visualizer was not available, so I found a file on GitHub and added it to my Blender. I think I am experiencing a similar issue with the colors. Can you please help me with how to fix this?

You block all the important areas we are meant to see when you are clicking between modes. You also need to ensure cycles is on as evee does not render point clouds. This tutorial took some effort but is also barely usable to completion due to you being unaware of how much your not telling us in this. Also you cut to your shader nodes layer without telling how you got there. Please don't take for granted that everyone watching is not already 1000 percent aware of this programs layer and keyboard short cuts. I cant even finish this tutorial due to how much info you have left out. Dude like what the fuck.

Any idea why your image quality after the projection is done is so crispy clear but my image quality gets a bit blurry and looses that sharpness? I've been searching for months to know what is wrong and I'm still confused. and I made the image 4k and then 8k but no change at all.

Hi, do you have issues with compelx scenes with these geometry nodes in blender? I am having CUDA issues when rendering this in 4k and can't explain why.

You might be running out of VRAM. Try finding ways to lower your usage. Might need lower texture resolutions, lower resolution, tile size or a mix of all

Is there actually a way to convert PLY also into a mesh approximation
@mv_nyc4 ай бұрын
There should be. I've heard of softwares that convert PLY point clouds into a mesh. Also take a look at KIRI engine, they just released a Gaussian Splat to mesh export tool

Reallly looking for videos going from point cloud to mesh. This is by far the most useful reason to work with point clouds in the first place, and is ironically the least documented process 😂
