Hi Eric, we are using forecast to drive MRP. Do you mind sharing how can we meet the target if forecast is not equal or meeting to target?

How does one get in? I’m currently in the military-10 years Logistics Planning experience & can’t land a logistics job on the civilian side to save my life. They keep saying my skills don’t translate smoothly.

I completely understood this one Eric! However, I think that is because I worked on the supply side for a Kosher Chocolate company and a major Kosher food distributor for a while and had to deal with the planning and implementation of regular and seasonal items to a wide range of buyers, from Mom and Pop shops to national grocery chains.

Sara, you didn't get lucky, you saw a need and decided to take it seriously. Devoting yourself to a goal/idea is all you needed, everything else somehow comes to fruition. I trained to be a pilot for my BA. Ended up in supply chain via a shipping and receiving job at the motorcycle shop I worked for as a second job after graduating, and now I'm a demand planner for a high end bike company - literally a dream job getting to test product and help them come into the new( to them) way of business. Supply chain is fascinating, and it's fascinating how many companies are trying to operate without a forecaster or even an S&OP. Also, I worked for Swire Coca-Cola as a supply planner....... that was my lead in to demand planning. Worked with CCR for certain product procurement between bottlers. ; ) Small world.

I have one topic recommendation for your upcoming videos, perhaps you wanna consider making a video on advance ERPsoftware systems used in Demand Planning world these days like KINAXIS RapidResponse / SAP IBP and what would be the steps to follow according to you for a company to have a smooth transition from their old ERP systems like APO 😊. I know it sounds like a specific ask but you can do your research and see if this makes sense for you to make a video on this topic. Big Fan of yours ..!
