I purchased an excellent rust free used subframe from a Georgia salvage yard for about $150 on Ebay. My 2005 Ford Escape runs perfect and is cheap and reliable. Excellent video.

When you say "lock the steering wheel" what do you mean? Do you mean turn the wheel inside the vehicle so won't move?

Honestly I use a bunch of big zip ties through the steering wheel, then around the shifter.

@@unorthodoxridez I'm stuck removing the front half of the drive shaft. It won't release from the front where the six torx bolts were. I've tried hammering it and when I pulled the shaft it likely came out of the bearing housing. I feel like this is the final death blow.

My 2019 ford escape keeps shutting off. I've changed alternator and battery after it shuts off it doesn't crank right away. Some time passes then it cranks no check engine lights on

Saw your video today. Having the exact same problem with my 2024 XLT hybrid which I took possession 1/31/24. The battery went dead the first time (5/2/24), at just under 2900 miles. The the most recent one two weeks ago(7/19/24), at just under 5800 miles. The first time, dealer said it was a defective battery and it could also be that most times the battery is the first component that's installed into a vehicle in production. Now this last time they told me again that it was a defective battery that they found that the battery had a bad cell. I think that's too much of a coincidence to have two new batteries installed in the same vehicle and found to be defective, and both batteries are from Ford. I've been looking at some of the chats for Ford Mavericks and it seems that you and I are not the only ones dealing with this type of incident. Yet Ford doesn't seem to know the problem or is attempting any type of a recall regarding this phenomenon.

I got my first warning message "battery is low" on my 23 maverick hybrid. But it starts, but i check volts in morning for last 3 days, avg. 12volts. Been told AGM style batteries on the maverick forum. Motorcraft only sells flood type batteries though for the maverick. Two to chose from 2 yrs and 3 warranty. Advance auto die hard wants $220 for their battery. There is an UPLUS battery on line amazon agm type about $150. Forum members bought one and put it in battery compartment. Removed two plastic trims to install battery. Said it wasn't hard to remove trim and it fit in place. What is your battery current situation? Get a new one? Which type? Did you turn off Ford Pass and that improved it? I really need information before I get that situation.

I refuse to turn off Ford pass as that excuse is complete bs. And currently it's doing "ok" however the other day it did enter battery saver mode after not driving for 1 day again...

I have about 200,000 miles on my 2006 Escape. While I was replacing the front seals and oil pan gasket, I found that rusted subframe. I was able to stop all the leaks which is encouraging. You have further encouraged me to go ahead and replace the subframe. Good video. You are good at it.

Honestly it's still my favorite vehicle, out of 26 that I've owned. Purchase price sub 25k and consistently gets 39-40mpg. Hard truth is all new vehicles have issues, I'm just glad I didn't pay $40k+ and still have issues.

It takes quite a bit to lemon law a vehicle. It basically has to be a total dumpster fire, which mine with the occasional dead 12v battery and leaking (not leaking? trans) would not qualify for yet.

@@unorthodoxridez I want you to keep documenting and trying; I know what it's like having to constantly fix a replace something yourself costing you money due to the manufacturer / stealership not trying to fix it. My brother was able to get his '21 Cherokee lemonaded and man it was a process, you just have to find the right stealership advisor who will work with you and your lawyer. I wish I had lemon lawd my kia out, mind you brand new 450 mi trans goes and it happened four more times under warranty with the last one Kia and the dealerships voiding my warranty putting me at fault. When all along they had the transmission rebuilt instead of it being replaced saying it was new I found this out for my transmission shop that rebuilt that transmission again and it went out 3years later; so I put a used one in there and let's just say I still have this same trans today 17 years later. The same thing happened to our '01 Expedition with the stealership, back in 2005 rebuilding and not replacing telling us it was new. I later put in a trans from an SVT/HD F-150 never had any issues 7yrs to date.

Hello do you have 2 mavericks bc I thought the hybrid was port injected and did not need an oil catch can? Or did you have a 2.0 then switch to a hybrid? Sorry for the troubles, very concerning. Is the transmission different on hybrid than the 2.0 ecoboost?

We do have 2 Mavericks. They have completely different transaxles, the hybrid is an Ecvt and the EcoBoost is an 8 speed AWD Automatic.

Not an LS3. The LS3 is a 6.2 V8. This turbo 6 actually makes similar HP to the LS3. I believe they make in the neighborhood of 410hp or so. The ATS-V v6 made more than that but he did say it was from an XTS V-sport. Still really unique regardless.

LF3, basically the steel rod, smaller turbo version of the ATS-Vs engine, except I modified mine to 21TK compressors (ATS-V is 20TK). And yup, Equinox transfer case and rear diff/axles/subframe. I posted a vid finally to my channel going over the car a little more on my lift

They are using time as an excuse, almost like statue of limitations and life expectancy of a vehicle.

Sadly they only build them to last a certain amount of time. They have it down to a science, you can look up the life expectancy of most vehicles from the manufacturer. Now some unexpected things happen earlier than that, and especially when it comes to safety and or publicity they will be forced to issue a recall. There was a recall for this, but not all vins were affected. It's unfortunate because they all share the same issue eventually.

Thank you for doing this video! I just took delivery of my 2024 Maverick, that I ordered last July! I will be getting the magnetic drain plug for it that you showed, thank you for that! FYI Valvoline has a new oil out that they developed specifically for hybrid engines, that’s what I will be using in my Maverick. Also curious if the fasteners are the same as your eco boost Maverick, and if you’re having the same issues with the belly pan cover on the hybrid or not? Thank you!

No problem, I just changed the oil again and am using the Valvoline 0w-20 hybrid oil. So far so good, mpg went up, and same fasteners on each truck.

You have video 0f the leak location which is good. I would clean it off after the next time you drive it. I would put a large piece of cardboard underneath it and again video it clean, and the again the next day and time stamp it for proof o.f everything before and after

Jason I have a 2012 and the right side of the subframe connector/cross member is starting to wear. Are you coating the new subframe and bar to keep it from rusting out? Are you using an epoxy, rustoleum or some form of a coating to the under carriage? Can you explain a bit more?
