I'm noticing how many ballads today rely on a soloist/duet/trio/quartet doing most of the work and the rest of the band just comes in with block chords or simple rhythms. Its not a majority or anything, but definitely much more than say before Covid

Yeah now that you mention it, I haven't seen many schools besides my own and Westlake (for the second half at least) whose ballad didn't revolve around soloists. Kinda weird, still a great ballad tho

Measure 20 has an A 8th note before the C that is kinda hard to hear in the video. Other than that, it’s pretty much spot on. Also, thanks for adding “milky smooth tone” at the beginning!

Best transcription I’ve ever seen of this so far. I’m pretty sure the guy tries glissing to D2 from the A for the first beat of measure 13, it’s hard to tell in a lot of recordings but it’s basically implied in the musical context.
